Dr. Straka was a real help to my hearing problem. I had fluid behind the right ear drum and the last "doctor" just talked down to me and tried to blame the entire issue on me. Well, Dr. Straka was not like that at all. He was professional, thorough, and cared about the treatment solution he suggested. He ended up putting a tube in my ear, but only after he checked my sinuses (not done before) and inspected the ear drum. Putting in the tube caused a little discomfort and he was concerned. Over all, I felt I had visited a true health professional. I will recommend Dr. John Straka to anybody. Go there!!

I seen Dr. J Straka for the first time last week. His staff was tremendous & made me feel very comfortable. He was very thorough, caring, concerned & excellent with explaining every detail & upcoming test he was going to have to be taking & explained every detail on what to expect in the next few weeks. He took so much time with me I was surprisingly impressed! He made me feel very comfortable & not ashamed of some of the issues I had been having with my health & how it all related to my ears & put my mind at ease that It was not from a previous stroke related issue & within time he & his staff will be happy to work with me to guide me on what will seem like a long process but it will pay off in the end! They set up all my tests for me, each staff member that worked with me that day came to say goodbye & tell me they are excited to work with me in the next few weeks as they walked me out & made me feel like I mattered! Looking forward to working with his other staff members tomorrow.

I have been seeing Dr. Straka for over 40 years and I absolutely recommend him to anyone needing an ears nose or throat specialist. I suffer from menieres & although there is no miracle cure under Dr. Straka's care my attacks of vertigo have become much more manageable. I have also had 2 successful surgery's by Dr. Straka and am now seeing him every 6 months. For me there are no other Dr I would consider

I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. A few years ago he operated on my nose to remove some cancer and I ended up with a major infection that made my face swell up like a balloon. His bedside manner is severely lacking in tenderness and compassion. He is indifferent to any pain he causes his patients. He should have retired years ago. For your sake do not use his services. His son is a much better doctor.

I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. I had my first new patient visit today with Dr. John Straka at the Sewickley location and the last one with him. He seemed confused & was forgetting things & he got frustrated & interrupted me as I was answering the nurse & said to me rudely, just answer the question, it's a simple yes or no. The nurse was surprised also. I told the staff I want to see a different dr. on my next visit. Terrible Doctor!
