I saw Dr. Sklar for an MMI as the state appointed doctor, when the insurance disputed my original certification. The doctor spent very little time with me. The time he did spend with me did not include a true exam. He used no instruments to measure my range of motion. He estimated my impairment from his chair, that he never left. It seemed like Dr. Sklar had decided, before I entered the room, what my rating would be and that measurements were not important. He also wasn't interested in my history or records. He rated me a zero percent impairment and stated that none of my injuries were work-related despite a clear fall at work that caused the damage. It felt like the rating was determine ahead of time and all other requirements adjusted to fit that narrative. After two years and four surgeries, this doctor has completely made a mess of my case and rightful compensation. This doctor is biased against the worker and likely on the insurance payroll. If you can avoid seeing him, do so

Worker beware !
This doctor completely messed my husband over. My first clue that something was amiss, was that I was not allowed in the room. There was enough room for me to stand so I could have been in the room. Because I was not able to be in there, there was no witness to the bad doctoring that further injured my husband. The second clue that something was not right was that the MMI rating took very little time. When I asked how he got examined in that short amount of time, my husband told me that the doctor never left his chair and never measured his range of motion. The MMI rating he gave was zero percent. He even said my husband's injuries were not work related. His bias is clear in his report. Now my husband has been further injured in many ways by having to battle for his rightful benefits and care. We will be filing a complaint. Worker beware - this doctor is not for you and will not be fair to you.

Extremely rude and unprofessional
We waited 20 mins for him to see us to only take about 10 mins to do an exam. All he said was “I got what I needed you guys can leave now.” Didn’t even bother to get up to open the door for us and when my mom thanked him all he said was “Okay.” He’s a doctor and can’t be professional?

He's the best
Dr Sklar is simply an amazing doctor, and a good man. He took a lot of time to help me understand that taking pills was causing my back pain to persist. It's been a couple of months since I saw him, and I'm feeling like a new person. It was a mistake for other doctors to put me on medicine and they were making me feel like I was sick. Dr. Sklar helped me realize that I'm not sick ... it was just stress that had accumulated in my body and the pills and other doctors were making the pain persist. I'm as good as new now!

Thank you
I had a DVT post knee surgery. The WC doctor I had along with the orthopedist that did the surgery refused to do anything about it. WC doctor said I had reached MMI even though he was looking at a discolored swollen leg with brawny edema and sent me to the chiropractor that does all of his disability ratings. He also said I had reached MMI. It was shockingly apparent they were trying to wash their hands of me to protect their ratings. I disputed this and WC sent me to Dr Sklar. After the examination Dr Sklar's findings were that I had not reached MMI and due to his recommendations I was able to get much needed helped. I have now reached statutory MMI and returned to Dr Sklar today for an impairment rating. Those numbers are what they are and I trust him for a fair and honest assessment. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr Sklar. I am able to stand long enough to cook supper.

Excellence
Dr. Sklar took the time to advocate for me as his patient. Dr. Sklar is extremely knowledgeable about the WC process and took the time to discuss long term recovery options after a knee replacement. He is a true professional.

He was the state appointed Dr for my WC claim review. The WC insurance was claiming that my injury was preexisting. The orthopedic surgeons notes clearly stated that although I was born with an extra bone in my foot, there was never an issue/pain with it until my injury at work (I've been athletic and active my entire 54 years). The "doctor" is NOT in the same league as an orthopedic surgeon and yet he was the one assigned to determine my disability rating & if I was going to get the surgery I need to get my life back to normal. He barely examined me...he never got out of his chair and asked minimal questions. His findings... shocker.. were in favor of the insurance company. Still in constant pain I'm now released to work 8-10 hours a day in a very physically demanding job. It's ridiculous that WC would allow a "doctor" with his reviews & lazy manner of examination to be the final determination for a WC injury that affects more people than just me. It's a true testament that the WC sys

When I saw Dr. Sklar and questioned him about my back pain, he took the time to talk to me and explain how to overcome pain. He is very knowledgeable about how the body and mind are connected and how to deal with physiological pain. He also suggested ways to overcome the pain, which was so helpful. I could have talked to him for hours. I would recommend others to see him if you are dealing with any type of chronic pain.

Sklar is not a a doctor I would recommend. He is just paid to say no to Injuried Worker’s who are in no way in any condition to earn a living through work. Sklar arrived an hour in a half latter for my appointment. He talked to me for 13 minutes and told me to go home. His report did not contain anything we briefly talked about. He saw the swelling in my neck area and failed to mention it in his report. This 500 pound person couldn’t even tie his own shoes nor fasten his belt. He was out of breath and I thought he needed assistance from his staff. I advise everyone who reads this not to ever see this guy. I’m awake right now because I’m in so much pain, I awake from my sleep in tears! Sklar has made my life a living hell but I know that God will take care of me as well as take care of Sklar for attempting to bring harm to me. He will make him my foot stool! Amen ??

Hes not a doctor at all. When he sees a patient he does not do a thorough evaluation of the patients needs nor does he look at all the records of the patients. He works to knock people off their workman's comp. And is stupid for not looking into the patients background to see if they still need pain management. Plus he smells and has a bad bedside manner. You can't do an evaluation on someone that you have only been around for 1 visit for 5 min. And didn't even ask if medications we're working.
