Dr. Pastor Is Excellent
the stigma of mental health challenges. I know that Dr. Pastor is an excellent psychiatrist who has helped countless patients. And I can say with confidence that he has helped me and changed my life forever. Thank God for Dr. Pastor. He listens. He understands. He responds. He’s not trying to be the most popular or successful doctor in town in order to sell books, get rich, gain notoriety, garner fame or gather reviews. He simply wants to show up and be present with his patients—-meet them where they are and be real. He freely shares his own challenges and experiences. THAT is amazing!! He’s not afraid of criticism. He’s not afraid of trying new things. He’s not afraid of telling you the ugly truth. Frankly, I wish there were more doctors like him in all medical fields.

Might not be a great fit for everyone, he doesn't exactly see eye to eye with diagnoses or the DSM, but he listens and is flexible and open to addressing issues however you would like. I have not encountered any serious problems with him. He isn't exactly trigger happy with medications, which may be refreshing. I assure you that his hesitancy to use the DSM does not stem from a lack of understanding of pathology, but rather he doesn't view diagnoses to be as useful as other methods of treatment.

My daughter has been a patient of Dr. Pastor's for over ten years. It is hard finding a good Psychiatrist, especially for your beloved child. I recall reviewing & researching doctors for days as her issues were not trivial. I have read many reviews on Dr. Pastor. I can see how one could either appreciate him or not secondary to the fact that he is real. He's not a stuffy, book educated only, typical psychiatrist who rubs his chin and asks you to tell him more. Oh, and I wouldn't want that. He is a man who has life skills, a higher education second to none, and a heart that is clearly larger than he would like to let on. Always there for her or I (with a release of course), impeccably real, and can appear to not be following what you are desperately trying to describe. However, at the end of each session, Dr. Pastor closes his eyes a moment in deep thought & with the time that is long past our 50 minutes, gives invaluable, supportive, real advice and revises meds as needed.

Dr. Pastor is a fantastic fit for my teenage sons and our family. He connects and relates extremely well to our boys and I greatly appreciate his sense of humor, perspective and care options he suggests. Extraordinary care and insight!! We are thankful to our pediatrician for recommending Dr. Pastor.
