Dr. John Nelligan III, MD

Dr. Nelligan did my hip replacement. He left me with permanent drop foot and numbness up to my knee. He told me it would heal in about a year. After my nerve conduction testing, my Neurologist said I should have seen improvements in 3 months. My nerve is dead and my muscle is dying. I was better off with my old hip. My life is way more complicated thanks to him. I do not recommend him

Was given x-ray. I was not the sunniest or kindest patient before surgery, I had been dealing w too much pain for too long. But Dr Nelligan was always kind to me no matter my disposition and feeling somewhat discouraged. I had lost confidence in doctors and the process I was facing to get better, and he restored my faith by treating me like he really cared. I appreciate him very much and am forever grateful

The knee replacement he did fell apart and I had another doctor do it again

Love this doctor! Over a few years of increasing pain primary care doc had tried twice to get an mri approved after he had me sent to the physical therapy Anthem ins. required before theywould consider an mri. Even after this insurance would not authorize it. So he referred me to Dr Nelligan. Nelligan did a thorough exam of my shoulder and neck. He explained insurance companies no longer approve such tests to diagnose a problem- only to confirm the problem after it has been acknowledged by the doctor in a physical exam and that surgery is needed to correct it So it’s a catch 22 if the cause of the problem is not glaringly apparent. He was not positive the rotator cuff was torn or that the mri would be approved but explained he would write the request in a manner that would have the best chance of getting the mri authorized. MRI approved, found hole in rotator cuff that Nelligan repaired and I’m now on the mend. Thankful for his expertise and great bedside manner. Highly recommend him!
