Dr. John McHugh, MD

Dr. McHugh is very thorough and answered any questions we had prior to surgery. His team was very kind and thorough post surgery as well, following up via phone and email to be sure my husband had the best recovery he could. Our chances for conceiving were less than 50% and we just had our daughter a month before the one year mark from surgery. We are so thankful for Dr. McHughs talents and the whole experience.

Dr. McHugh and his staff are top notch. I drove nearly an hour based on the excellent reviews, and it was worth the drive. The experience here was much more personal than the large group practice in Atlanta where I was initially referred by my primary care physician. Dr. McHugh took great care to make the “no scalpel” procedure nearly painless. Highly recommend!

Very helpful and pleasant staff

Dr. McHugh did an amazing job with my vasectomy! He was very calming and easy going and made the whole process a breeze! After the lidocaine took effect, I could not feel anything at all and it was finished in probably 10 minutes. Drove 2 hours each way to go here because I heard good things (it's not common to have a perfect 5 star review!) and it was worth the drive. Still in the recovery process but I am already feeling much better down there after 6 days of healing. 10/10 would recommend!

First of all, I contacted Dr. McHugh over the website. He called me after hours (5-6 pm), explained the procedure and answered all my questions. At my age (56), he did cautiously warn me that success would be much lower. All encompassing fee performed at this facility was more than reasonable and I liked the doc so my wife and I took a chance. On the day of the procedure (12/23/2020 I believe), the staff was wonderfully nice beforehand and I honestly hardly remember anything afterward. My wife said that they were most helpful and nice. Recovery wasn't bad and I didn't even take the pain pills. The stitches took a while to heal but I would imagine that's par for the course. UNFORTUNATELY...JUST KIDDING...FORTUNATELY the procedure was a SUCCESS. My wife is now pregnant and due in January 2022. Thanks Doc. I guess that I am not that old after all. I was super pleased with everything regarding my vasectomy. Dr. McHugh and his staff made the whole experience as painless as possible (both the actual procedure and the sensitive/personal nature of having something like this done). Highly recommended.

Great recovery, great doctor!

Staff was fantastic and made my procedure easy.

Dr. McHugh was referred to me by my PCP, and was able to work me into his schedule within several weeks. After arriving, his staff accepted me as his patient, and put all my questions and concerns to rest within five minutes, assuring me he was able to conduct a thorough prostate exam, confirmed my problem, and took all the time to explain his care plan. As a Retired US Military member, Dr. McHugh, gladly accepted my TriCare Insurance, along with Medicare Insurance and explained in great detail, why it is important for annual exams. Dr. McHugh scheduled additional diagnostic biopsy which confirmed prostate cancer surgery, explained ALL my options, and provided options Robotic Surgeons in both Atlanta and Gainesville. I will recommend Dr. McHugh to anyone who wants the personalised care plan from a true Professional, a member of the US Military who understands the needs and insurance issues. Patient for Life. I had a vasectomy preformed by Dr. McHugh in 2011. My experience was very pleasant all things considered. When I met my wife in 2015 we decide to have a child together. So in January of 2017 I met with Dr. McHugh again and we scheduled my reversal. It was a success and my wife became pregnant in April. Unfortunately she miscarried in July. We tried again later in 2017 with no success. We prayed about our situation and felt that if god wanted us to have a child it would happen on his time frame not our’s. Well after a year of waiting trying and praying we were introduced to a reproduction specialist. We had multiple test ran and the conclusion was that I had scar tissue occlude my vas tube. Well we knew then that Dr. McHugh was the man we would trust to fix my issue. So we scheduled my second reversal procedure in March of 2019. My wife and I are happy to announce that we are now expecting in March of 2020. This wouldn’t be possible without Dr. McHugh and his amazing staff! Thank y’all!
