Dr. Howington has always shown genuine concern during out appointments and his frequent visits while I was hospitalized and also under his care. During the subject visit, he even asked I assure he will be informed of the results of an upcoming CT scan as ordered by my pulmonologist.

She was diagnosed with NSCLC w/ brain Mets back in October of last year. Upon arriving to the office this morning, her insurance claim is being held up... thus delaying her surgery. Keep in mind she has a ticking time bomb inside of her and every day is critical. The authorization is being held up by another facility where she was contemplating surgery. Now, upon talking to Shanda,, who by the way is quite rude and lacks any bit of people skills, competence or attention to detail) is working to resolve the matter - one that should have never occurred. I'm in Healthcare as well and understand the urgency of the situation, and that proper processes WERE NOT FOLLOWED. This should have been a smooth morning, but instead has turned into a nightmare. Somebody DID NOT DO THEIR JOB!!! Plain and simple. It is obvious that, while the surgeon may a good one, his staff and their ability to perform job duties.... is lacking. Not a good look for your Medical Group sir!

Dr Howington did surgical removal of my lower lobe left lung October 9th 1997 in Little Rock Arkansas at UAMS. It was hoped that the lung contained primary lung cancer but it was in fact metastatic melanoma. We were frightened that I may not live more than a short time. He was skillful and very very kind. I want to get the message to him that I am, in fact, still living. 73 years old and very active. He might remember that the tumor was behind my heart and about the size of a golf ball. His skillful care gave me time to get into a clinical trial and after five years of that autoimmune therapy the melanoma has not come back. Dr Howington saved me. Lung cancer was a terrifying diagnosis. My mother died of it. So at 65, though I hated the thought of surgery, Dr John Howington made it practically painless, I still can’t find the scars. And Because of his skill no chemo at all! Thank God. He is a consummate communicator, which is rare for surgeons, gentle, clear, respectful.
