Dr. John Gaillard IV, MD

I saw Dr Gaillerd in the AHWFB ER for a sudden muscle spasm. After making me wait to get the appropriate medication until he had time to personally examine me, he told me the spasm was probably just a new manifestation of my chronic pain issues, and I should go home. I have an extensive medical history and asked him to check my lab values to make sure there wasn’t an electrolyte imbalance at play. He stated firmly that there was no indication for labs to be drawn and refused to allow a blood draw. I requested to escalate my concern to another ED MD of equal or higher standing. I was told that I was discharged, and that security was coming to escort me out. They also had the charge nurse come and tell me I would be trespassed with the WS police if I refused to leave with security. Dr. Gaillerd conducted himself unprofessionally, had an attitude of superiority, and unnecessarily called security on me when I never raised my voice or made a threat of any kind.
