Dr. John Ergle, MD

Dr Ergle is soft spoken and quietly listens to me explain my symptoms. He always takes my concerns seriously and as part of the Self Hospital system he refers me to the specialist he believes can diagnosis or confirm his diagnosis! There is almost no wait time when I arrived for my appointment. Dr Ergle & his nurse work together well. I am in an out quickly without feeling rushed at all. Bery organized.

I like him much better than my old female doctor! He gets straight to the point! He actually listened to me, my old doctor never did

Dr. Ergle is extraordinarily vapid as a clinician. I have seen him several times, and each time he has delivered substandard care. Talks with him are short (10 minutes if you're lucky). Interactions with him feel cold and detached. He doesn't seem interested in his patients, and will sometimes belittle them with smug comments. He told me that I essentially have "too much free time", when I just finished two bachelor's degrees, quit alcohol, am currently working on two manuscripts which will be published in peer-reviewed academic journals, applied to over 50 jobs, doing fulfilling creative projects, etc. People who are like Dr. Ergle I hate the most. They are so detached from their own humanity, they mindless fill their days with "work". We have plenty of worker bees in this world. We could use more people who are inspired to think about the world and how it could be changed to be better. There are much better GPs out there - I recommend seeing someone else.

My visit with Dr.Ergle was terrible. He don't care & he's not understanding..I never seen a doctor down a patient

This office is the least helpful doctor I have ever dealt with in my 54 years... Dr Ergle is greedy for his visit money and is as helpful as a rock when it comes to health issues

Relocated from out of state, the first visit with Dr. Ergle was unimpressive. He Immediately asked what I was there for. He had not bothered to review my medical history. I explained to him my most major concerns that I wanted to addressed. I don't know what he heard or were his mind was, because he didn't hear a word I said. After I spent apprxly 15 mins voicing my health issues. He mentioned casually that MAYBE we could check into a particular procedure with the specialist for testing. Presumedly, he notied this action in my e-chart for clearance. I never heard back from the office regarding any proposed testing. The only thing was noticed on the e-file was a follow-up appt in 6 mos. What! I asked were was my referral to see this other specialist... It was mentioned that someone would contact me with information. WOW! really. I finally contacted the office again 6 wks afters to addressed the same chronic issues. Short story I had to tell him what I wanted, & then he forgot again!

Uninterested, uncaring, rushes in and out, when speaking about my medical history, he did not care to listen , told me told me he only wanted "the highlights" . I just picked someone after Dr. Hannah left his practice. Bad choice. Will be looking elsewhere

I was so shocked today when I was told that Dr. Ergle could no longer see me as I was now considered a new patient. My family has seen him since we entered Greenwood SC in 2010. I have seen gynecologists outside of Dr. Ergle, but my family continued to remain loyal to him as a Doctor. I am sure the group he is affiliated helped determine what patients he could serve. I am sad that I am seeking a new doctor due to Dr. Ergle not standing up for patients who have trusted him for years.

Nearly impossible to reach by phone, to make an appointment. Line always busy. Have been waiting over 25 minutes this afternoon from 3:03-3:28, line busy the entire time. Frustrating.

Dr. Ergle is very nice but beyond giving out antibiotics he is either uninterested or uninformed. His practice is next to impossible to schedule appointments with now, ever since self took over. He is not persistant to resolve health issues.

A great family doctor.
