DR. COUGHLIN IS OUR HERO! Our daughter has always been a gifted runner. Loved running, always has run, until suddenly she began getting intermittent pain. It began as intermittent and worsened over a years’ time. It was thought to be gas, then constipation. When the Pediatrician had nothing more to say about what was going on we proceeded to see a G.I. Doctor who just wanted to dose her with Miralax. Went to a 2nd G.I. Doctor and he said this is not a G.I. issue, he suggested to see a Sports Medicine doctor. Saw the Sports Medicine doctor and he suggests us to see a Gynecologist and a Pediatric Surgeon. Saw Gynecologist-nothing. 5th doctor after a year of trying to figure this out, Lo and behold Dr. Coughlin figures out in FIVE MINUTES that she has an Umbilical Hernia. It was repaired, and she is better and back to running!

My son had surgery 9/18 with Dr. Coughlin, I had met him once before for the initial consultation. That first visit was very brief about 3 minutes in the room with him. He simply said "I'll take that out" he gave me a folder with paperwork and told me schedule the surgery. No explanation really. I asked if I should be concerned he responded "it's benign." Shook my hand and left. The first visit I didn't think too much of it. The day of the surgery was fine, they took him back and had it all done

Dr. Coughlin is an amazing surgeon who truly cares about his patients. He will do whatever it takes to make certain that you are informed, that you understand, and that you are well taken care of. He is a champion for patients' rights and is willing to go the extra mile. He is very exuberant when he is talking to his patients (which may come across as rude when he interrupts) but his heart is with his patients.

Very short, see’s your child for 2 mins then it’s onto the next one. Barley explains what is going on and how surgery goes. Will tell you come back in for an appointment and fail to tell you that it’s in Tampa. Which is an hour away. Would not recommend this Doctor to anyone. Yes her surgery went well but was guided thru it blind not knowing what was really going on. Truly he’s just doing it for the Money not for the children.
