Excellent Dr Who Cares
I have been a patient of Dr Chen’s for 10 years and have always been treated with compassion and respect. He is very knowledgeable about migraine headaches as he suffers from them as well. I suffer from migraines almost daily and he has had me try every medication there is to prevent them from coming on. Unfortunately nothing really works for me but he hasn’t given up and we continue to search for a solution to this problem. I highly recommend Dr Chen to anyone who has neurological problems as he doesn’t give up on his patients. He’s very kind and I feel very fortunate to have found him and will continue to be very grateful to him for all his efforts.

Taking over your primary leaving patientn hanging
What stood out most is having a discussion with a patient when not fully recovered. Removing medications and thinking he’s going to take over primary care. Removing medications that are highly dangerous to cut and replace with dirty medications that cause absolutely horrible side effects. So disappointed with the level of care. Please when lack of a patient history do not practice medicine your way or you can really hurt someone. Also when taking your social history please refrain from making assumptions when they are being treated. You have no right to make decisions about my healthcare and place patients in dangerous situations. Please self reflect and give a patient time. Not one of my Doctors ever spoke to you but you still made a decisions to remove all my medications and place me in dangerous withdrawal scenario. What was your solutions…let’s remove all meds and replace with untried and unrelated meds. Thank you for making my life pure misery to get back to health.

Never. I have been trying to get an appointment for weeks, they never answer phone or return calls or email after leaving many messages. Look elsewhere.

My aunt has been seeing Dr. Chen since 2008 when she couldn’t sign her name anymore due to Parkinson’s; with the right medication she is writing and walking. He is always there for us in times of crisis and providing the best care possible. He is honest above all and compassionate. He responds quickly on the patient portal. I highly recommend Dr. Chen!

Dr. Chen has been my Neurologist for 14 years and has stuck with me through thick and thin. I find he reaches his goal of providing compassionate medical care. I recently discovered that a close friend also goes to Dr. Chen. When we discuss Dr. Chen we're thankful he can't hear us or he would have a 'big head.'

I would never recommend Dr. Chen to any of my family and friends he is not a very friendly doctor did not even discuss my MRI report with me which later I found some issues from another doctor once I questioned him about the MRI he turned on me and dismissed me That's not a real doctor I have very real neurological issues that he dismissed He is supposed to be a practicing doctor he needs to go back to school to learn a little more about the human brain because he knows nothing

I've been experiencing chronic daily headaches for the past 8 years. After an MRI showed nothing and a few prescription options didn't work, he gave up on me. He told me that nothing was wrong and to be thankful that I'm not autistic like his son. I stopped looking for treatment for a few years after that. Headaches got worse and only recently I found someone who suggested SPECT and EEG scans. Results: I have mild brain trauma from football. I highly recommend searching for other options.

Dr. Chen is an amazing doctor. Attentive, helpful, and incredibly caring. His office staff is literally the worst. They're reasonably nice in person, but the way they handle themselves with scheduling, billing, filing paperwork, anything reflects an impressive level of incompetence. Dr. Chen is definitely worth wading through the quagmire of incompetence that is his office staff. Fair warning.

I owe my life to Dr. Chen. I can't thank him enough for staying the course and supporting my family in assisting them in making the most difficult decisions that resulted in my new lease on life. This all occurred in the E-R at Orange County Global Medical Center in Santa Ana. Appreciatively yours, Gary Shapiro

The office staff is incompetent and rude. Dr.Chen has changed his accepted insurance. I spoke to his office the morning of my appointment to verify insurance. They said all was fine. When I got there I was told that they no longer accepted my insurance and I would have to pay the full amount. Dr. Chen says he will be right back and never returns to the exam room - this has happened 2 times. I leave feeling that my questions have not been addressed
