SUPPORT STAFF IS AWFUL!
I have spent the last 10 days tried to receive a portal response to a billing question as well as calling twice! It makes a big difference in my copay! NO RESPONSE! Unfortunately support staff is very important in this profession, and I am extremely frustrated about not getting my question answered. Without support staff, the Dr. cannot serve patients properly!

very caring, informative and meticulous doctor. I would trust him with every surgery I need in the future. only thing, I left when KCOA stopped taking my insurance, right when we were talking about me having a total knee replacement, so I have been limping around with this knee looking for a close replacement for Dr Carlisle.

Thorough as they can be!
I’ve been in around physicians the last 20 years of my work life so I’ve seen my fair share. Dr. Carlisle is one of the most thorough physicians I have witnessed. Not only has he treated me as a patient, but he also repaired our sons ACL-MCL injury. He took the time, when most physicians won’t, to address every piece of the process and made sure we understood options. He broke down all options and provided literature (clinical research) to support each option. Excellent surgeon and highly recommend.

Dr. Carlisle is top notch, provides excellent care
My family had a rough 2023. First, I tore my bicep tendon from the bone and my son tore his Labrum and Cartlidge in his shoulder from football. Dr. Carlisle did an amazing job on both my bicep and my son's shoulder! If you are looking for someone that cares and wants to get you back to where you were before the accident, I highly recommend you go see Dr. Carlisle. You will not be disappointed. Explained the whole process before and after both surgeries. He cares about your well-being, and it shows through his actions! I could go on and on about Dr. Carlisle, but I think you get my point. I have 5 kids, and all are very active with sports and activities. God forbid something else happens to them, but if it does, and needs some type of surgery, I would not think twice about going anywhere else! It would be Dr. Carlisle or no one!

Excellent Care and Amazing Staff
Injuries can be scary, especially when it’s your child who gets injured! Based on Dr. Carlisle’s extensive experience with sports related injuries, we knew we’d be in good hands. Upon our first consult, Dr. Carlisle explained the injury, our options and set appropriate expectations for recovery. There was never a surprise through the pre-op, operative and post-surgery/PT window. He took time to answer our questions, and our son’s questions, even if the questions were repetitive. We took his advice from surgery to healing and physical therapy. Thank you, Dr. Carlisle and your amazing staff, for helping us navigate this scary journey with confidence and a great end result!

Bad night or bad bedside manners?
Dr Carlisle is not my surgeon, however he is a partner and was on call this evening. I had a major ankle surgery last week and have been dealing with the inability to sleep because of pain and constant muscle twitching the last few nights. I have been trying to “suck it up” but tonight called and talked to a nurse at the intake center because I can’t fall asleep and it’s driving me batty. She suggested the doctor on call could potentially prescribe a muscle relaxant to help me finally get some sleep. Upon call back Dr. Carlisle immediately berated me for bothering him in the middle of the night saying it was completely inappropriate. I was completely taken aback by this and naturally apologized. After getting off the phone I realized how inappropriate it was to treat me like that. I totally understand how it’s annoying to have your sleep interrupted (which is the very reason I called!) but to show that level of disrespect to a patient is beyond a lack of bedside manners, it was cruel.

Hip surgery 2022
Dr Carlisle was amazing, he listened to all of my concerns and was very knowledgeable. He gave me great advice and was extremely caring in regards to my condition. He has amazing bedside manner. After surgery my groin pain from my avascular necrosis was gone. I had pain from the core decompression of course but my pain level had gone down right away in that area that was constant for months. The girls up front were amazing also, Pam the scheduling coordinator and Julie with all the girls up front are super compassionate to the patients and I am thankful for such amazing staff.

Dr. Carlisle is the best and most knowledgeable surgeon I've ever known. He was able to pinpoint what was going on with my knees and came up with plan to get me back to doing what I love! I wouldn't trust anyone else to cut into me. He's got great bedside manner and had taken all the time I needed to answer any questions and thoroughly my diagnosis and treatment plans. He's honest and gives you the pros and cons to every treatment route option. If you need a GREAT surgeon, ask for Dr. Carlisle!

First appointment went well, seemed nice and willing to help with my hip pain. When I went back for a steroid shot in my hip he was horrible, told me if I couldn't stay still he would have to stop, I was crying in pain and the 2 nurses did nothing, no Kleenex, no holding my hand. Would never go back to him, if you doctors are having a bad day, stay home!

Dr. Carlisle was the first doctor I went to after injuring my hip. He quickly identified the issue, giving great and easy to understand information on what the injury was and what our next step should be. He helped me get through the rest of the soccer season, and then performed my hip surgery. Following the surgery, he checked in on me on numerous occasions at the hospital, and made sure I was completing all the therapy needed for me to get back to 100%. The surgery went great, and to this day I feel better than ever. He answered every question I had, and was extremely friendly while still being professional. I will continue to use him as my go-to doctor for all my orthopedic injuries.

I am a PT and Dr. Carlisle performed my hip surgery and I would recommend him. I saw him as he is an excellent surgeon and my patients had good results with him. He spent time at each appointment and explained his opinion, treatment options, and I never felt rushed. He is an advocate & supporter of PT and had me try conservative treatment initially. As a clinician, I and other PTs at my clinic have treated his patients for awhile and know he is a full supporter of PT and collaborates with us.
