From an angry husband
Terrible doctor. He treated my wife for several months, prescribing her massive doses of a controlled substance, which her new doctor has had to spend months helping her titrate off of. She also reported that he was condescending and dismissive about her concerns over her treatment. Also, he missed an appointment with her, leaving her in a virtual waiting room for three hours; no explanation or apology. My wife felt like he didn’t care about her or her well-being. Avoid at all costs.

Dr Brennan does appreciate a brisk meeting, but so do I! Have your ducks in a row before you have your session. He's not your therapist that you pour your heart out to for an hour and a half. He was respectful, he listened to my concerns, he even referred me out to another doctor for an issue I wanted to explore that he took seriously.

I had one initial consult with Dr. Brennan and it was mediocre at best, but I wanted to give it a chance. I was prescribed a new medication and within 4-5 days of taking it, I began having negative side effects that were making me ill. When I attempted to explain these side effects to Dr. Brennan on the phone, he was extremely dismissive and made me feel like I was incompetent of my own symptoms! He constantly interrupted me when I attempted to describe how I was feeling! After being on the phone for a little over a minute he said, “I only have 60 seconds left to talk, so what do you wanna do!?!” I was in shock! I already felt physically awful and now I was being rushed off the phone without a solution! His only advice...”try doubling up on your dosage...” and then he hung up! Double up on a medication that is making me sick!?! I was in disbelief! I’ve never felt more ignored or dismissed by any doctor! Please, don’t let yourself find out the hard way! Never again!

He does talk fast and has a tendency to interrupt you. For medication checks, sometimes it seems to go so quickly, you are being walked to the door before you know it. So why the four stars? Well, over the years, he has had moments of understanding and compassion. He is intelligent and seems to care. He also encouraged me to go to therapy constantly, and even helped me find a good fit. So far from perfect, he stands out among psychiatrists.

Dr. Brennan found things I didn't realize I was suffering from. I suggest that you see a clinical psychologist for testing and then get referred to Dr. Brennan. He talks fast, speaks what's on his mind, and thinks out loud while he asks questions and tests you as you don't realize it. Psychiatry in combination with therapy, which you usually also from someone else, so before you go bashing Dr. Brennan, understand what he is helping you do. It can take trials and errors to adjust the meds right. Things I had been taking for years, stopped working. We work through this by trying different things until we find the combination that works for me. Please remember that everyone's version of feeling 'normal' can be very different. He works differently, he may not be for everyone, but he is genuinely caring and does work effectively. He's a good guy, and I love how he is helping me, even though we aren't quite there yet. I will keep coming until we get it right! I know he is who can help me.

I've never felt more disrespected, ignored, and frustrated with any doctor than I have in my single visit with this man. Dr. Brennan was dismissive, rude (he will interrupt you constantly), and extremely disrespectful toward me. He wasn't interested in anything I had to say and refused to divert from his "checklist". He's arrogant and condescending, and has clearly been in the business far too long and should seriously consider retirement if he's going to treat his patients with such contempt.

You know what the difference between a drug pusher and a doctor is? The doctor wants you to get better. My wife has seen Brennan a half dozen time in the past couple of years and has been prescribed an equal number of different drugs. Many of these drugs should not be prescribed together and should definitely not be used by people who abuse alcohol. She is not on a care plan, she doesn't receive follow-ups, and she's not getting better. You tell me which one of the above Brennan is.

I was referred to Dr Brennan by my PCP. I have seen Dr Brennan several times and i was ready to transfer my care to another Psychiatrist after the first visit but decided to give it a chance. He would ask questions yet cut me off in the middle of sentences. His demeanor displayed disconcern agitation and overall unprofessionalism. I also brought a friend with me a few times to witness his behavior. I have cut all ties with Dr Brennan and will be seeking another Psychiatrist as soon as possible.

If you want a Dr. you can't reach, this is your guy. If you want somebody to tell you your insurance is accepted and then later tell you that you aren't covered, this is still you guy. If you really need a psychologist and you want to schedule an appointment and then wait a month only to be told by a receptionist that you can't reach that insurance isn't accepted the day before the appointment, I would highly recommend Dr. Brennan. This is your guy who doesn't care about you.
