Still standing after brain AVM resection 25 years
He saved my life 25 years ago and I am so impressed by him and trust his judgement. I've returned because I was told I've got 4 very debilitated cervical discs causing major painful nerve problems in both upper extremities. He looked at my MRI & said. I've got 2 bad levels not causing my symptoms so no surgery will help. It's most likely progression of my MFMN.

I’ve had lumbar and cervical surgery, both were very successful.! My recovery time was minimal because of the small incisions and his attention to detail.

Would not recommend Dr Anson for back surgery. Reluctantly had my first surgery and he said it went well. Hospital sent me home within hours of surgery. I was back in surgery for a second time within 4 months for same thing and again he said it was successful. When I complained I still had pain after the second surgery, he only recommended physical therapy or research the internet for help. (WOW!) Just had my 5th MRI which shows worse damage then when I started and my pain has gotten worse and spread now. Going to go see an Orthopedic Surgeon now at a different practice to fix his work. Wish I never stepped foot in his office.

Dr Anson and staff are an amazing group of professionals in every aspect. I was in incredible pain for 5 years and had a lumbar laminectomy (2014)on L2,3,4 that didn't help my problem it sent me into disability and I could barely walk and had to use a walker. Dr Anson took on look at me and we decided I need a 5 level fusion(2018) L1-5 into S1. 8 screws in my left a 2 into S1 on my right with a rod. 9 months later i have zero paining I'm starting to regain my leg strength and walking again. Truly amazing and a miracle. I can't say enough about Dr Anson, Carrie, Megan and staff. They are the #1 team in neurosurgery. Great job, Thank you so much!

Dr. Anson says the surgery went well and my post-op x-rays are good but, I still have neuropathy. It may not be his fault but, I shouldn't have had surgery. Office visits run at least 1 plus hour late. Today I'm still waiting after an hour and a half. Poor management. This is how it always is. Maybe the doc is greedy and wants to see too many patients. Also, I told him about a problem with my breathing, he said what I was experiencing can't happen. He just recommend that I go to an ENT.

Dr. Anson and his assistant Carrie saved my life. I was diagnosed with normal pressure hydrocephellus. I had gotten to the point where I couldn't digest food or walk at all. My husband took me to UMC emergency and I was graced with Dr. Anson. He performed a vp shunt surgery in my brain. He told me with all the confidence that after the surgery I would walk again. He was right! The vomiting also disappeared. My A1C went from 12 for 3 years down to 7. Dr. Anson and Carrie are amazing! THEY ROCK!

I do not have enough superlative words to describe my experience with Dr. John Anson and his staff Carey, and Megan. One month ago I could not walk 27 steps unaided today I can walk with NO pain, exercise , and go about my normal activities . Any limitations are for a limited time for healing Of course Dr. Anson's expertise in the surgery was of utmost importance but his and his staff's treatment of my humanness will also stand out in my mind I am beyond happy, satisfied and most grateful.

After 4 back surgeries in a 14 mo. period, I was much worse. Went to my 2 wk. check up and Dr. Anson had no id why I had drop foot and increased after the last surgery. Went to another specialist who admitted me to the hospital quickly and found scar tissue that was pushed against nerved endings. After this surgery, I could move my leg. I am still in a lot of pain and looks like I will have permanent nerve damage to my right leg. I may never be able to drive again.

He is the best! I truly believe my husband wouldn't be walking today if it weren't for Dr. Anson. He found what other doctors and hospital testing missed. My husband wouldn't go to to anyone else unless it was something not of his control.
