I AM LUCKY TO BE IN HIS PRACTICE.
Dr. Allen has been my primary care physician for eight years and I consider myself fortunate to have him looking after my medical needs. He is proactive about what issues may become future major problems and initiates appropriate therapy quickly. The same can be said of his managing my blood pressure, cholesterol and other metabolic issues, always striving for the best medical options devoid of side effects. I consider his medical and pharmaceutical knowledge to be profound and current so you will be assured of getting the best medical advice and treatment available. He is quick in responding to lab test and Rx refills. He is a good listener and I always feel welcomed in his office. I have known thousands of physicians during my career in the pharmaceutical industry and I consider Dr. Allen to be one of the best in fulfilling the role of primary care. You will be fortunate to be a member of his practice.

Don't get sideways with the billing department!
Dr. Allen is, what I would describe as a middle of the road doc. He doesn't listen all that much to the patient, but that is usually straightened up in relatively short order. Gave up trying to fix all the errors in my medical record. Might as well be talking to a tree. There was an issue with billing to my insurance. Because of that, with NO NOTICE. The BILLING DEPARTMENT Terminated my status as a patient with Dr. Allen. I am both a heart and cancer patient who needs to have ongoing care oversight. Now, I'm having to fend for myself to try and get established with another primary care doctor.

Stay away from him!
DR JOHN ALLEN if I could give zero stars I would! He is very unprofessional, he doesn’t care about what you have to say. He treated me poorly in visit and also wrote information on MyChart that was not even communicated with me. JOHN ALLEN put false information on my medical record and said we said we discussed about some health concerns and set goals for it which was not true. I recommend to stay away from this doctor if you want someone who cares and doesn’t put false information on your record.

Dr. Allen's insight has been effective in proactively helping discover some issues that needed attention that I was totally unaware of. One a blocked artery and an eye issue that I am presently having dealt with. I feel very secure in his having my best interests in mind.

Horrible doctor. My husband is a paraplegic and doctor Allen has done NOTHING for him except bill for insurance. I am filing a formal complaint with Oregon Medical Board. Extreme patient neglect.
