Unquestionably the best internist and the best geriatrician I have seen in my 77 years, and what a remarkable human being! He did a thorough assessment of cognition, balance and muscular strength and calculated from the data on my lab work my kidney disease stage in a second. He told me that at my age he would not have started me on a statin which my young cardiologist had just prescribed. I stoped the statin and started drinking pomegranate juice in its place. Having monitored my parents meds as they aged, and having prevented irreversible brain damage by terminating two meds the PDR said taken together resulted in it, as well as hallucinations from a med for misdiagnosed Parkinson’s , I worry about overmedication and misdiagnosis as my cognition declines. Not with this Dr. as PC. He was also so very generous with his time, and so kind answering all my questions. I cried when I found out he is retiring. What a loss for FSU and us patients, one in a million.
