Spontaneous labor
On February 18, 2024. I went into spontaneous labor had to get to the Hospital as quickly as possible by the time I arrived at the hospital I was already 9 and a half cm dilated and Dr. Abu was the only OB on call when I went in I had to go all natural to deliver my daughters, yes I wasn’t the easiest patient to deal with. I was trying to push away from him because I was in pain because I was unable to get epidural but all in all my experience with him was a pretty decent one. My daughter was 8 lbs. 7 oz. healthy little girl and I was just fine. I’m sorry to hear about all these people that have had horrible experiences with him. I could say it was a pretty decent one.

Great experience
Dr. Abu was excellent! Prioritized me in a calm manner for emergency c-section. Him, the NP Ann and the CRNA were incredible. Baby delivered healthy and I healed perfectly. My pain was managed well. 10/10

Good license should be revoked. The worst is ending up in the hospital and having no choice but to be under his care. I feel so blessed that me and my child came out healthy and alive from the delivery. He was an awful Dr.

He did not show up for my emergency d and c . I bled with clots from 10-30-7 pm died two times had blood transfusions and cpr , rapid response team was saving my life . Physician was calling him sooo many times he would not show up . At 7 pm other doctor who was on call showed up and saved me . He should not have licence and should be in jail . I’m hiring a lawyer .

I'm honestly so surprised to see all these bad reviews. And I'm sorry that those things happened but I want people to know my story. I had been to THREE ERs and was on the verge or death either from pain or internal bleeding. Dr. Abu believed my pain and was so caring. Dr. Abu saved my life and my ovary because I almost lost both of them. This was in July of 2020 and I was 19 at the time. I was a hot mess and in shock from the pain. If it weren't for him I wouldn't be persuing my career as a physician. He saw me personally after my surgery twice (which is not something ER surgeons do) to update me and check up on me. The staff also spoke highly of him. God bless this man because I would be dead, infertile, or without my ovaries as a 19 yo if it was not for him.

Our experience with Dr. Abu has been a nightmare. When we first met him, my wife was in labour for roughly five hours. Our midwife was in the room with us and he proceeded to interrogate her about the way she handled our pregnancy. After he barely said anything to us about what was happening, we were sent upstairs to delivery. He came in around 6cm dilated and suggested breaking my wife’s water. Also made a few rude comments about what was taking my wife so long to deliver. Once we heard his shift was over and a new doctor was taking over, we felt so much safer and more comfortable. The next morning after delivery, he was on call again and had a consultation with us. He said to my wife while I was out of the room that we are lucky the other doctor was patient. Now fast forward to five days postpartum, we were told to come back if my wife’s blood pressure gets to be too high. We come back and he begins to give us medication that counteracts the reason we are even here! Horrible practice

I was at Sarasota Memorial ER on 12/30/2017. I was 20 weeks pregnant and was having a miscarriage. Dr Abu tried everything to save our baby but I was fully dilated and there was no way back. Our son only lived 2 hours. Dr Abu was great during my stay at the hospital.

Writing this for my wife and other soon to be mothers! Horrible Dr. can’t believe he is allowed to deliver babies. I will drive my wife hours if I had to to have our babies. Next time we may just stay home and call an ambulance post birth. SMH needs to get rid of him. 18 weeks post delivery and my wife still has terrible vaginal pain.

Please listen to all the reviews on here. This man is horrible and shouldn't be allowed to practice medicine. Had a horrible expierience at the ER. When I read all the reviews on this man on here and other websites I'm so glad I declined his services and ended up checking my self out of Sarasota Memorial. Just like others posted I wouldnt trust him to take care of an animal yet he is allowed near pregnant mothers and new born babies. Mr Abu you should be ashamed of your self.

Awful experience. I went to the ER for vaginal bleeding that would not stop. During the time I was at Sarasota Memorial ER I saw two doctors who each did pelvic exams. Dr. Abu's technique and manner was aggressive and rough. For the first time in my 48 yrs I was brought to tears at a simple pelvic exam. I could not even talk when he finished I was so upset and in shock. Not once did he ask if I was ok, or what was wrong. He just plowed forward completely disregarding me. Awful experience

Dr. Abu used his intuition which saved my life by admitting me to hospital... Otherwise; if I had been sent home, would have probably not lived after respiratory failure the following day during a complicated pregnancy.
