Dr. Johannes Coetzee, MD

He is an awesome Orthopedic Surgeon. I was very fortunate to get him as a doctor. He helped me heal my Fibula that kept fracturing by putting a screw in it. We just took that screw out now that I have my Osteoporosis under control. I couldn't be more pleased with the care I received. WE are VERY fortunate to have him in MN.

I saw Dr Coetzee at his Edina Clinic some years ago. He was to have repaired a hammer toe and a bunion. He did shorten the hammer toe and fused the joint so that the toe no longer bends. The toe is oriented so far to the left that it looks deformed and hinders my ability to walk well and get up for the ground. The bunion doesn't seem to have been repaired at all. A friend recommended Dr Coetzee as an excellent surgeon. I don't know what happened. When the bandages were removed, he seemed as surprised as I was at the outcome of the surgery. It is unfortunate that neither of us said anything at the time. I have been living with the effects of the surgery for many years, but now I am having knee, back and hip pain and need to have the condition corrected.

Tried to schedule an appointment but was told Dr. Coetzee was told his next opening was March, 2023. Can't wait that long so looking for another doctor.

Dr Coetzee is the premier foot/ankle orthopedist in the Midwest. My daughter and I both had injuries surgically treated by Dr Coetzee with great results. I returned several years later with bunion issues that were starting to affect my toes and was amazed that Dr Coetzee was able to do both feet in a single surgery AND I could walk out of surgery that day! Being able to be weight bearing immediately was great and seems to actually speed the healing process. In 6 weeks I was back in regular shoes and able to run again. I highly recommend Dr Coetzee for any foot/ ankle issues you may have.

He is an amazing doctor after a botched surgery I went to see him. He explained what was wrong and how he could fix my foot so I can walk. Surgery in a month. TCO staff was very friendly. Highly recommended

I had a foot surgery in 2017, "not" at TCO, that left me with toe and painful foot issues. I went to see Dr. Coetzee on recommendation from a good friend. I had my surgery in June 2020. From the minute I met with Dr. Coetzee, I knew after his assessment and explanation, he was the right surgeon for me. This surgeon is compassionate and exceptionally gifted in surgical technique . I now have straight toes, bunion repair, and a normal foot again. Physical Therapy was ordered additionally. Thank you to Dr. Coetzee and his supporting staff for my new foot. Excellent care!

I had foot surgery 18 months ago and have been in pain ever since. Dr. Coetzee was able to examine my foot and explain clearly and in detail exactly why that surgery had failed and what could be done to correct it. I am SO excited about FINALLY being able to walk again without pain and am in the process of scheduling a new surgery with him.

After working on my ankle issues with a specialist, I reached out to Dr. Coetzee to review my surgical options. Dr. Coetzee and his team at TCO met with my wife and I and very thoroughly and thoughtfully discussed the various options and the pros and cons of each. We confidently chose to have the total ankle replacement. Thus far, in my 4th week of recovery after the surgery, all is working out very well! I have very good movement in flexing the foot/ankle and so far, very little pain. I am looking forward to my therapy scheduled to begin approximately 4 weeks from now! Dr. Coetzee and his team at TCO have been very supportive and caring throughout the whole process and I would highly recommend them!

Dr. Coetzee, Larry and Lisa provided excellent care after a long road of doctoring elsewhere. They provided the correct surgery needed getting me back on my feet and active. Now with another foot mishap they got me in right away and again are taking care of me. There is such a peace within to know you can completely trust your doctor and team. I feel very fortunate to be able to call Dr. Coetzee my doctor.

My experience with Dr. Coetzee as my surgeon was exceptional. His reputation clearly preceded him, as many, many of my friends and family members have had surgery done with him, all with excellent results. He and his staff were beyond accommodating in every way, making an otherwise unpleasant experience as pleasant as possible. I appreciated his calm, reassuring manner for discussing my issue, and explaining all aspects of it clearly. I never felt rushed at any of my appointments. My actual surgery was only 5 days ago, but recovery is going very well and I look forward to my post op appointment. I am expecting a full recovery. I will continue to share my experience with others, and will happily recommend him to friends or family needing foot or ankle surgery.

He was excellent and spent an adequate amount of time with me. His team that supports him were very good as well. I am not sure if they offer a telemedicine option for communicating with him directly but it would be nice if he offered "AskYourDoc" as a communication tool.

We are so fortunate to have met Dr. Coetzee. He is a world renowned Orthopedic surgeon. He has successfully performed three surgeries on me, and two on my daughter. He is an excellent surgeon, very gentle, incredibly skilled, and a very kind person.

DR. Coetzee has done two surgerys on my right foot. One for a broken bone, and one for a huge bone spur. Needless to say, I was scared to death after doing the research and learning that they would need to cut the achilles tendon in order to remove the spur. First person I thought of was Dr. C. I went to sleep in the operating room with total trust and confidence that I would wake up and he would walk in and with that smile of his say, everything went perfect you should be up and around in 6 weeks. I was and am now enjoying a pain free life thanks to Dr. C and his AMAZING staff.I can't say enough good things about this man. God bless.
