Is the office overbearing or uncaring?
Dr. Gilstrap was my primary physician for over two years. He was always nice but doesn't really engage in the shared decision-making process of treatment (where I come in with knowledge about conditions that I have been treated for 20-plus years and we discuss options). I fired his office when I asked for advice through the portal (about whether it was safe to temp. stop my life-saving medicine, a blood thinner, before a procedure - noting that I already had done so in prep for my procedure) and I didn't receive a response to my health concerns, just a notice that I needed to make an appointment. I thought he was my trusted primary care physician but his office proved to me that they are more concerned with profits than patients.

I have been going to Gilstrap for 6 years. He is a great doctor but his head nurse April can’t get a thing right. She does not return calls. She does not get prescriptions right. They never get billing correct and their errors are your expense. Today my wife and I were 7 minutes late. After all the times we waited 45 minutes to an hour to see the doctor, April refused to see us for being 7 minutes late. Attempted to call the location mgr. No call back. They don’t care. Decide for yourself.

My entire family have been patients of Dr Gilstrap’s for years. He is very thorough and always takes the time to listen to all of our concerns. If there is a concern above his expertise, he is never afraid to say so and refer us to a specialist. His receptionists, Cyndi and Shannon are courteous and accommodating. Nurses Jessica and April have always returned phone calls in a timely manner. They r always pleasant and also thorough. I highly recommend entire staff including NP, Bonnie Moore!

My family and I have been going to Dr. Gilstrap for years and haven't once considered going anywhere else. The wait time isn't too long and the nurses are always upbeat, kind, and equipped with a good sense of humor. Dr. Gilstrap works hard to fix any health issues you may face and sends you to the best specialists when necessary. 10/10 would recommend!

extremely poor option for managing your overall health- delegates and refers out to specialists whenever possible. Something has changed at this practice- excellent physicians left and were replaced by Gilstrap and wife and Nurse Practitioners or who haven't completed liscensure requirements. I'd love to know what's really going on. I believe this pair previously had a private practice that failed or was shut down. AVOID.

I always have a great experience at Dr. Gilstrap’s office. The staff is courteous and very professional. Dr. Gilstrap takes the time needed to review my lab work and explain how things work. My health is always his main concern. Thankful for April, Jessica, Cyndi, Shannon and everyone else. Keep up the good work.

Dr. Gilstrap takes the time that is needed for our appointments. My entire family sees him and wouldn't even think of going anywhere else. They have knowledge and efficient receptionists and nurses. Shannon and Cyndi are always friendly and make sure that we have future appointments so we will get reminders and not forget our appointments. I give Dr. Gilstrap and his office a 5 star rating because they are the best. Dr. Gilstrap's nurses are always there for us. They are great to call us back.

My experience with Dr. Gilstrap has been very positive. He listens to my concerns and works with me to move toward improving my quality of health without shaming me! I know to do good but struggle with keeping on my health improvement plan. I have confidence that Dr. Gilstrap keeps current with his medical technical knowledge. I feels that Dr. Gilstrap truly cares about me as his patient.
