Very knowledgeable and thorough. Listened and explained. EGD and colonoscopy went smoothly. No pain.

Rude and unprofessional
He was extremely rude my first visit. His nurse was annoyed with him and kept rolling her eyes. I advise to go else where. I won’t be returning.

My husband and I both are patients of Dr Jacob. He’s very easy to talk to and listens to the patient. I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

I went with my Mother to see Dr. Jacob for a Colonoscopy consultation per her PCP. She has been in the hospital with what they think is Crohn’s disease which is why they wanted to do a Colonoscopy. Dr. Jacob was extremely rude to my mother. Interrupting her over and over. Would not allow her to tell him her concerns. She had to repeat herself numerous times. He talked down to her like she was stupid. He was also unprepared for the appointment. I have never witnessed such unprofessionalism in my life! Finally, my mother had enough and walked out during the appointment. I would not recommend Dr. Jacobs.

My wife saw Dr Jacob. I was able to go with her for her appointment. I found him to be distracted, not interested in what my wife had to say, told her to go home and take an over-the-counter medication two or three times a day to stop her diarrhea. Her diarrhea had been almost daily for over a year at that time. I am sorry I cannot recommend a doctor who cares so little for his patients.

I would recommend Dr. Jacob to anyone looking for a good GI doctor who listens, and seems to genuinely care about his patients. Earlier this year my diverticulitis flared back up and I did not know it. It eventually perforated and landed me in the hospital preparing for surgery. I insisted that Dr Jacob be added as a consult to my case and he brought not only explanations, great advice and guidance, but I feel that his involvement actually saved me from having a permanent colostomy bag.

He seemed uninterested in my concerns since I was only 30 years old. He suggested I just quit my long term antidepressants for a couple weeks and see if my stomach get better. This was after my 3 hour wait past my appointment time. Will NEVER suggest him to any of my patients at work.

I did not have a good experience with Dr. Jacob. I saw him twice, for issues that continued after having my gallbladder removed. I was very sick, and he kept saying over and over that I was probably pregnant because of my constant nausea and inability to keep down food. When I told him that was not that case, he argued with me until we did a pregnancy test. He did a scope and prescribed acid reducers. That was it. My PCP has done a better job helping me with my stomach issues.

All indications are his knowledge & skills are good, but his professional ethics and preparation (eg. medical hx/chart review, memory in general) in dealing with patients are sub-par. A patient can reasonably expect that a MD who requests his patient make a post-procedure follow-up appt might show that he has a clue about said pt at said appt. And stop pushing pts to see a surgeon they don't want to see.

Dr. Jacob did NOT have a judging attitude like I have found with other doctors. He listened to what I had to say and then made sure I understood everything I needed to do. He explained everything he would need to do and asked if I had any questions then he answered them without making me feel silly for asking them. He was professional and kind.
