Dr. Joaquim Tavares, MD

My English is not good to express..., but I want to do it in Portuguese. I'm Valdo Correia Gomes Ié, now a general surgery resident. Citizen of the same country with Dr. Joaquim Silva Tavares, 'Djoca di 100'. I didn't know Djoca personally, but because of his high capacity and his 'great historical legacy' as a good student at the current National High School N'krwamah, made me fall in love with his personality and wanting to meet him and get to know him up close and be able to grab his Critical Care book to read and learn something. My National Pride in the area of Medicine and Human Personality Conviction. Uncle Djoca, know that you are one of the few GUIGUIS who mirror the good direction of MY life. Until one day...

HE IS A TOP NOTCH DOCTOR!!!... My review is long over due as I have been a patient of Dr. Tavares since the opening of his office in 2013. Let me start by saying he is an absolute gem of a doctor!.. His knowledge, professionalism, bedside-manner and caring demeanor are just a few things that I can describe about him. He is like family now, my Mother has accompanied me to all my visits and you would think he's her doctor too! :) We love his wonderful staff as well. There are other Doctors in the office so if he's on call in the hospital, you could see another specialist on staff (Which is great)! They're ALL wonderful and you'll feel well taken care of. As long as I remain in Las Vegas, Dr. Tavares will be my Pulmonologist. GOD bless you & your family! Thank you for taking care of me and helping me to BREATHE!!! :)

Dr. Tarvaras is the best in his field. He always takes time and always makes me feel like he is concerned, caring. I would never go to any other lung specialist because, I have found the best. May GOD always watch over Dr. Tarvaras and his family.

Dr Tavares is not only an excellent caring doctor who specializes in pulmonary and sleep medicine, he is so knowledgeable and explains things in ways understandable to someone who has no medical experience. His office staff is friendly and efficient and wait time is minimal to see him. He has not only knowledge but compassion which is hard to find in a doctor these days. If you are reading this you are looking for a lung doctor and I recommend you don't hesitate to see Dr Tavares !!!

Dr. Tavares was the doctor who treated me when I came into the hospital in extreme pulmonary failure. Although I was not coherent for most of my treatment including double intubations, my husband was the one who dealt with Dr. Tavares and said that he instilled confidence and competency that relieved a lot of his apprehensions about my condition. Dr. Tavares saw me through a very life threatening time and brought me back from the edge.
