Dr. Jiwan Thapa, MD

My husband started with Dr Thapa in 2020 after his kidney doctor retired. He is nice enough, but followup is poor. He does not have a good handle on a patient's history. My husband started a new blood pressure medication that often causes high potassium. No followup labs were done to check his potassium. My husband has a history of high potassium. Another Dr. checked it and he was hospitalized 5 weeks later for a dangerously high potassium. After this we called because he was having more swelling in his legs & blood pressure was not well-controlled. We were told to hold off on his diuretic until seen a week later in clinic. In that time my husband develop fluid overload that backed up into his lungs & had to go to the ER for IV diuretics to help get some of the fluid off. He was restarted on a diuretic. At his final office visit Dr Thapa talked about all the things that would be happening with his kidneys, but we didn't receive any information. At this point we went to see another Dr
