Total knee replacement Sept.11 2024
Dr. Katz and his entire team were very professional, very informative as to what my needs were and what would be done for my surgery. Everything I have experienced has been exactly what I was informed. Dr. Katz truly cares about you before surgery an after surgery makes a point of listening to you answering questions that you may have he answers an explains clearly so you understand. I am 3 months post op feeling fantastic after my Total knee replacement thanks to the wonderful care of fantastic surgeon Dr. Jerald Katz if I ever need to have a orthopedic procedure again Dr.Katz will be my number choice. To Dr. Katz an Staff thank you for the wonderful care. Zero stars wasn't an option
'You're a bad patient' and 'Not today, not ever' were utterances by Dr.Katz today when he sent my 65 year old mother home after canceling her painfully necessary knee replacement. His reasoning, contrary to medical studies, the products own instructions for use, a multitude of other providers, and my own personal, anecdotal interactions with the same procedure, was that the clear presurgery drink my mother ingested at 7am posed an imminent risk to the procedure she arrived for at 8:30am. Her surgery had previously been canceled when she tested positive for nicotine; despite not having been made aware that was even a possibility. To tell a patient with a long history of depression and mental illness that they're 'bad', 'this is all on you, not me' and the dismissive, condescension, in combination with the lack of proper or adequate pre-op instruction from 'support' staff is repugnant. Do better!

Dr. Katz is one of the best Surgeons I've ever met. He did my total hip replacement. I'm so thankful to him. I thought I would never be able to walk normal and be pain free until he did my surgery. There is no need to go to Boston when you have the best right here in Fall River! From the bottom of my heart Thank You Dr. Katz.

Dr. Katz did knee surgery on my mom (she was 79 years old). Now a year later my mom has total success with her new knee> she is now 80, can drive and do her normal everyday life. Dr. Katz was amazing before and after the surgery. He is very friendly, kind and thoroughly explains using words we understand. We definitely recommend him!

On Dec. 15, 2017, Dr. Katz performed surgery on a fractured ankle bone I injured in a fall. He inserted a metal plate with 11 screws. I have been totally impressed by his professionalism, the thoroughness of his after care and his warm personality. He made a stressful situation much less daunting by his ability to explain clearly every step of his care and answered fully any questions . I must add, too, that the Physical Therapy at Prima Care is also first class. I highly recommend both.. GREAT

I went to Dr. Katz for an issue with some Harrington rods I have had in my back for over forty years. He suggested that I portions of 2 of the rods. I had misconception of how bad the surgery would be and was hesitant to do it. He was patient, understanding and explained to me exactly what would be done, and set my fears to rest. He was pleasant, professional, understanding and always explained to me what was involved. The surgery was great. He is one of the best doctors I have ever had

Met Dr. Katz "by accident"! Had fallen & ruptured my right quadricep tendon. I am not from this area, so I had no knowledge of any specialists. St. Annes was recommended as a good ortho hospital. They were right. Dr. Katz performed surgery early on a Sunday morning, and was calming, informative, caring and very skilled. I could not have asked for a better surgeon, as i am having a very good recovery. Dr. Katz and the entire staff were excellent.

Dr. Katz was very knowledgeable and straightforward with his understanding and explanation of my rotator cuff issue. The surgery went well (St. Anne's hospital staff were all very friendly and professional) and with physical therapy, after 5 1/2 months I'm probably back to 80 - 90% and improving all the time.

Our experience with Dr. Katz was pretty poor. We were told in the hospital that our baby had hip dysplasia after she was born and she was immediately assigned to Dr. Katz's care as he's the only pediatric orthopedist in the area. He seemed very condescending toward us during some of our visits which put us off initially. However, the worst is that after multiple braces, casts, and procedures, the problem wasn't being corrected. He's terrible at doing spica casts. Too tight & too small of a hole.
