Fantastic physician
I have been seeing Dr. G for over 20 years. The moment I met her I knew she was legit. She listens and asks all the questions . Most importantly, she gives you raw feedback. Real feedback. I love how she takes the time to get to know you and Invests in your well being. I cannot speak more highly of her. So much so, I have recommended her to all of our family and friends. Dr. G is the real deal and truly gets to know her patients and treats them like family.

How is she in practice? She is very condescending and rude. On top of that, she misdiagnosed me.

I have worked with Dr. G for a little over a year now, and I have to say she is one of the rudest, most condescending, and dismissive people I have ever met. l struggle with an eating disorder as well as multiple other undiagnosed chronic illnesses, and I have been trying to advocate for myself and work on getting diagnosis for the past year, but all she does is dismiss what I'm saying with her "expertise". She took away my POTS diagnosis which I received while in hospital) and said it wasn't a valid diagnosis because I was unstable at the time I was diagnosed. First of all, if someone has POTS they are inherently going to be unstable, and second, many people get diagnosed with POTS while unstable (I've looked at the stats). And if that wasn't already enough, a little over a week ago I had a meeting with her and the rest of my treatment team, and she made a joke about self-harm. Does "you can just slit your wrists and end up back in the hospital" sound like a joke? Should not be a doc.

I liked her at first but the last two times I had seen her she went on about her own life and I couldn’t get a word in. Not listening and curt and rushed. Ironically I went to follow up with her on something and she had disappeared from GIMG. Looking back, I am not surprised. She was either on or off and more recently she had been quite off. I am now reading reviews and finding that I was not alone in my experience.

Dr. Gorrelick is the most compassionate and committed physician I have worked with. She brings considerable expertise and many years of experience to her work. It can be difficult to be forthright about some medical concerns; I trusted Dr. Gorrelick with all of my questions and needs. I appreciated her humor and her down-to-earth manner - they helped me feel comfortable. I highly recommend her.

I had a terrible experience seeing Dr. Gorrelick. Her bedside manner is horrendous, which I might have been able to look past if she hadn't also misdiagnosed me. It's unclear how she is still in practice.

My experiences with Dr. Gorelick made me realize that I needed to find another doctor. She had no recollection of having seen me two weeks prior for a physical, and refused to prescribe me steroids for poison ivy because "it would make you crazy". She seemed very frantic and very discombobulated each time I met with her. Did not inspire confidence that she was even paying attention and following along

I am extremely sad and disappointed that Dr. G is nowhere to be found. She has been my doctor for 20+ years. I moved to Southern Maryland 10 years ago and continued to see her because she is so awesome. I always found her to be compassionate, intuitive, intelligent and professional. I am heartbroken at the thought of trying to find a new doctor. I hope she appears somewhere soon.

I also absolutely love Dr. Gorrelick and thank the universe that I've had her on my care team during some very challenging periods. Does anyone know where she is now practicing?? Once I found out where she is, I will absolutely be transferring.

I absolutely love Dr. Gorrelick. She is patient, solicitous, caring, engaging, discerning, tactful, astute, respectful, gentle, and completely dedicated to being a partner with me in my efforts to maintain my excellent health. Particularly in this age where there seems to be a pill for just about every affliction known to science, I appreciate that she respects my desire to live a long and full life without taking any of them (unless absolutely necessary). I would love to know where she has/is going now that she has left the General Internal Medicine Group in Arlington. She is a physician to whom I would definitely commute.

I am surprised at some of the reviews here, just the opposite of my experience. She has been my personal physician over a decade. I have found her to be someone who listens to me, takes time to answers questions, and seems quite professional and current in knowledge. She remembers my issues and family as well. She is also funny, so maybe some folks are expecting a more somber experience. I wonder if those folks also were there on a difficult, super busy day, so didn’t get the care they expected. I am sorry to see her leave GIMG.

I’m so disappointed that Dr. Gorrelick is no longer at GIMG! I loved having her as my doctor since I moved here 3 years ago. I saw 3-4 different doctors before finding her and now I’m sad to have to search again. I actually only googled her name to see if I could find out what practice she is with now, and I’m shocked to read the awful things people have written about her. I always found her sensitive, inquisitive, intelligent, and supportive. She took the time to follow up on me closely when I was going through a really rough time earlier this year, she could usually squeeze me in if I called and asked, and the office rarely had to call and ask to reschedule my appointments with her. I will miss her so much!

I have worked in healthcare for over 20 years with a number of different physicians and have never experienced such a rude, accusatory provider in my life. Almost to the point of bullying. She came into the room with her own agenda and assumptions (which were incorrect), didn’t ask me much of anything about my history, and became defensive every time I asked anything. No bedside manner at all. This was the worst experience I have ever had in a doctors office and I will not be coming back.

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Gorrelick?
Dr. Gorrelick is the most unprofessional and cold doctor I have ever visited. She lacks any sort bedside manner or the ability to listen to the concerns of her patients. She was apathetic to talking about my records and to discussing my family health, and it was clear she had not reviewed any of my records prior to the visit. As a new patient, I expect a doctor to come in for the first time, ask how I am, or at least say it’s nice to meet you. Instead she walked in and immediately started lecturing me on her agenda. She also talked over me every time I tried to talk to her. I never expect my practitioners to pass judgement or to be so abrasive. Dr. Gorrelick, unfortunately, possesses both of these qualities. I will not be going back and would not recommend her for patients who genuinely want to know about their health and who want to develop a relationship with their general physician. I echo many of the reviews below about her character, judgement, and callousness.

I used to see Dr. Gorrelick - but one time I questioned her judgement even the littlest bit - and she became one of the most condescending and horrible people I have ever encountered. On top of that, she was wrong based on a follow up to a specialist. She was about a decade behind in her knowledge and was so 'sure' she was right and lambasting me for it, I really would recommend avoiding her.
