She seems knowledgeable in what she is doing in her field but is absolutely inconsiderate of how the patient is feeling when approaching treatments, clinical trials, etc. Doctors (whether research or not) should know never to say something condescending as "I understand how upset you are" after telling them they are not able to do a clinical trial for, what is now considered, an incurable cancer. Unless you are also dying of cancer, you should never tell a patient that...just saying.
