Dr. Jennifer Abramson, MD

I came to her from around the ages of 14-17 years old. Here's some bullet points of what she did:Kept me on meds that were making me miserable until I had a crisis and self harmedThreatened to not see me if I went off those medsMonth later wanted me to go back on said medsWas convinced I had some form of psychosis despite my hallucinations very clearly being PTSD (which I am now professionally diagnosed with) flashbacks. Ignored my mood swings and then laughed in my face when I suggested I had a mood disorder because I was worried and wanted treatment (I am now professionally diagnosed with one)Talked about me to her colleagues and tried to convince them that I self harmed because I believed I 'had something in my blood' (completely wrong) instead of the fact that it was caused by how miserable I was under her care Ignored that I had just come off a long period of time of starving myself and told me to 'just eat less' when I said I felt bad abt gaining weight from meds

Dr. Abramson does not understand how to diagnose appropriately. Her first instinct is to medicate without understanding other possible causes. She thought our son had a mood disorder and put him on very strong and dangerous meds. It got to the point where she thought he needed to be institutionalized. After a second opinion it was found that he has OCD, a commonly missed diagnosis. This dr should have ruled out all possibilities before prescribing meds.
