Bipolar
I had to see Dr. Draper for about three months during my pregnancy bc my doctor was on leave. One visit she’d be bubbly and laughing, then next visit when I asked about creating a birth plan, she said in the rudest way, “my birth plan is to get your baby delivered.” False. I saw her for my 6-week post-birth visit and shocker, brought my baby bc I had to. My baby was crying, as newborns do. She asked if I could quiet them. I was on the exam table spread wide eagle. I said I’m afraid not at the moment, and she said “should’ve scheduled your appt around their nap time.” I asked her to check on something that had been concerning me. She said, “It’s fine.” I attempted to ask a clarifying question and she interrupted me and literally yelled, “I said it was fine!” She threw down my paper and left the room, slamming the door. I had to get dressed and find a nurse who said my appt was done and I could leave. Draper is terrible, mean, rude, and has no place treating women.

Dr. Draper is incredible! I have been seeing her for 10 years and recently had my first surgery with her and I could not have felt more comfortable in her hands! She is always so personable and makes me (an anxious person with doctor's appointments) feel so relaxed.

The best
Dr. Draper is the absolute best OBGYN. I love her kind and bubbly personality. She takes concerns seriously but is not alarmist. She understands mental health as it intersects with pregnancy and has an empathic bedside manner. She does not shame me based on my weight and she seems accepting of all kinds of patients! She genuinely makes me feel like she cares about my care. I will be heartbroken if she ever leaves this practice!!!!

You’ll end up having to see 2 Dr.’s/appointments
Rushed through appointment. Made a scoff in judgement noise when I asked about treatment options, given getting pregnant/having my own genetic children will never be in my plans, and dismissed my question without even seeking why I stated I do not wish to be pregnant. Dismissed my concerns and connections between birth control and severe symptoms… as I am VERY sensitive to BC hormones, something I have already explored and explained to my regular doctor who is excellent, Dr. Prosser. Refused to even try to submit a prior authorization for a birth control I had been on for a year, and after a MONTH of atleast 5 calls, and 2 weeks without, finally returns the call stating my insurance won’t pay… despite me having called to confirm all that is need was a prior auth. Then stated in that same call they would submit a prescription for a generic of the “same thing.” Called a WEEK later because they still had not sent it. Not the same, twice as much estrogen. Doesn’t care about patient needs.

Best obgyn doctor!
I cant say enough good things about Dr. Draper. She birthed all 3 of my children and completes all of my annual check ups and i will not go to anyone else. She has never rushed me through an apt, she has great bedside manner, and is extremely knowledgeable. Dr. Draper is a great doctor and person.

I'm a regular patient at VPFW. I saw Dr. Draper while my regular doctor was on leave. I was scheduled for an annual and had my breast exam and pap done, and I also asked about a recurring, months long issue. Dr. Draper rushed me along and said that she didn't feel like it "was worth it" to provide me with further treatment for my issue and said I needed to "live as normally as possible," which was an absolute joke. A month later, when I was being seen by another doctor for a problem visit (for the same issue she wouldn't treat), it was discovered that she documented my annual as a problem visit and had my insurance and myself billed for it - despite providing no treatment. I was then informed that my pap was not sent off, and she did not document anything about my annual. I had to redo the entire visit with my regular doctor when she came back from leave.

I've been seeing Dr. Draper for 6 years now. She recently guided me through my 1st pregnancy. I can't say enough good things about her knowledge, bedside manner, and her general ability to put patients at ease. Even through a pandemic, I felt more than prepared to bring my baby boy into the world with her expert support.

I've been a patient of Dr. Draper's for the last 5 years and have been VERY pleased with her. She is very knowledgeable, personal, patient, and most importantly compassionate. She was able to detect my condition early, provide education, and treat it accordingly. I can honestly say that If I had not become a patient, I probably wouldn't be here today to write about it. Dr. Draper will forever be my doctor as long as she is in the Richmond, VA area.

I am an older patient as my birthing years are done. Since my former OBGYN retired a few years back, I needed to see a new doctor. At first, I was uneasy as I had never seen a woman doctor, but I was relieved very quickly. Dr Draper is bubbly and very kind. Her bedside manner was great and non-clinical. Each appointment seems like a visit with a good friend which is certainly more relaxing! I really like her demeanor and can't imagine being disappointed in her care.

Dr. Draper ruined the birth of my second child. She was not my doctor, just on call that day. I had birthing complications, and was immediately judged. The first thing I was asked after birthing my son was “was there any drug use during pregnancy”. I was hurt and embarrassed and now 4 years later when I think about his birth, that’s all I remember. Being judged and belittled, it made me feel less than a person. I just hope that this women finds some compassion and empathy for her patients.

I have been seeing Dr. Draper for about 8 years now; she was my first gynecologist. I have always had a wonderful experience with her. She is very friendly, gentle!, understanding, great at listening and explaining issues, and I can't imagine going to any other doctor. I have referred her to my friends and mom who have also had great experiences with her. It's relatively easy to get an appointment when I like and then I have always been brought into the room quickly. Absolutely no complaints!
