He saved my moms life 7 years ago and now I get to see and spend time with my mom every day thanks to him. He performed her basically all day surgery to remove a mass the size of a watermelon and he followed up with my mom every step of the way afterward even until now.

referred for mass on ovaries. He was surgeon to remove my ovaries. As a breast cancer survivor at a time when BRAC was not routine, he invited I get tested. I was positive and he now follows me to be sure nothing appears in my uterus.

I was referred to Dr. Stern by my gynecologist. He and his team took very good care of me during surgery. Wonderful follow up. Shirley Dr. Stern’s office manager was wonderful. She arranged for extra test prior to the surgery, and the rest of the staff could not have ben nicer. It’s very scary when you have to see an oncologist Dr. Stern and Shirley took the scary part out for me. Thank you very much.

Terrible, he neglected the gravity of my wife’s post GYN-Onc surgery complications. His office coordinator neglected PPO insurance that didn’t require authorization for PET scan causing delays in diagnosis.

Dr. Stern and the oncologists at Alta Bates saved my life 18 yeas ago. He was straightforward, answered my questions and truthfully and fully gave me the info I needed to make hard choices. I am still here and under my original surgeon’s care I would have likely died 4 years after my diagnosis. Dr. Stern and his staff provide a superior level of care in spite of a very busy schedule and Shirley is also second to none. In a medical care team, I am not looking for new friends or someone to listen to my life stories - I want general kindness, aggressive cancer treatment, extreme competence, and a history of successful remediation of difficult and complicated cases. Jeffrey Stern and the Alta Bates team have all of that.

Dr. Stern is a brilliant and caring physician.

Walk, no RUN away from this guy!!!! I was diagnosed with 4th stage cancer via a CT/Pet scan. I was told "everything had to go". THANK GOODNESS FOR MY INSTINCTS!!! I went to an other oncologist who stated "I just don't feel you have cancer. Have you had any biopsies?" The answer was "NO." He was incredibly misogynistic, doesn't do laparoscopic surgeries, leaving a HUGE scar with a longer recovery and more chances for complications. And, no I didn't have cancer and am still intact!!

At a very difficult time in my life, Dr. Stern was very reassuring. He explained everything clearly and answered all my questions. Top notch surgeon. Good follow up. His secretary, Shirlee, is wonderful as his physician assistant.

He may be brief and to the point, but I felt completely at ease with him and his staff for such a scary time in my life. He performed a surgery to remove my uterus and one ovary and I have recovered fully and quickly. I felt completely informed and he answered all questions that I had very thoroughly.
