Highly skilled
Excellent treatment. Took time to answer all questions and explain the full situation and options. Grateful he was able to find the remedy for my large stuck ureter stone. No unintended consequences.

Was there when I needed help
I had a very large kidney stone that tried to pass while I was visiting Provo from the east coast. After a trip to the Er, Dr Sparenborg was referred to me and he quickly worked me into his surgery schedule and removed the stone. I am very thankful to him and his office staff, and the surgery center staff for the excellent care I received.

If you must stay in Utah County, shop elsewhere. He is robotic, gives rote presentation of facts. Scheduled my cancer surgery out longer than prudent as there were mitigating circumstances. Path report conspicuously missing from online info. He did not show for my two wk post-op check, PA handed me my path report and indicated she could not interpret it that I would need to wait for 6 wk check for dx from doc. I relied on another urologist for closure of the situation surrounding the surgery.

Dr. Sparenborg wisely recommended that he biopsy my prostate after elevated PSA tests. The biopsy revealed aggressive prostate cancer and he recommended a robotic prostatectomy. The surgery was perfect and the pathology showed clear margins with stage 3 cancer. I recovered continence after six months and have no evidence of recurrence to date. I think Dr. Sparenborg saved my life, and I cannot thank him enough.

I do not recommend Dr. Sparenborg. He is very difficult to talk to. He has a hard time putting a sentence together and did not answer my questions. He did not seem to care at all about the problems that arose after my surgery and seemed to want to wash his hands of me. He only visited me once at the hospital during my 8-day stay. I wondered if his reluctance to talk was because he feared I would use what he said to sue him. I had no intention of that. If you want a caring doctor, find someone else. I got much more help and information from the hospital nurses and my family doctor than from Dr. Sparenborg.

I have seen Dr Sparenborg over the past 18 months about 4 times. He was excellent! He was interested in my condition. He listened and offered a lot of useful information. I had a Urolift procedure done and he was excellent the procedure was done quickly and the results are amazing. The follow up visit was great. Don't hesitate to schedule with Dr. Sparenborg he is one of the best in Utah County!

Waited almost 2 hours to see him. No office staff checked on us. He didn’t apologize for the wait, wasn’t thorough, seemed disinterested. Spent maybe 10 minutes max with us. Very disappointed

I highly recommend Dr. Sparenborg. He listens, explains, follows up and has a great staff who do the same. He explained the pro and cons of each treatment option for prostate cancer and called me at home to check on me post surgery. I have great confidence in him as does my wife.
