Terrible scar from surgery
Was supposed to be a Lathrop scopic surgery, ended up with a 4 inch incision down the middle of my stomach. The Surgical technique used for closing the wound is less than desirable. The strict use of only staples has left me with an over flap in the middle of my stomach that rubs on everything that I wear. I will have to wear a Band-Aid over the 4 inch scar incision on a daily basis for the rest of my life Due to the over flap.

Inhumane to not tell a patient they are dying
Dr. Neale treated my mother in law for colon cancer and at her first visit at his office he had a plan to help this 85 year old woman beat the cancer. He had her go for another scan of the affected area because he 'wasn't sure of what the first scan showed' . At the second meeting more bad news. Her cancer was now in her colon, small intestine, bladder and lymph nodes. This man told her that he did 'not have a local team' for the bladder cancer and recommended she go to Moffitt Cancer center in Tampa. This 85 year old 83 lbs 5'6' woman went to Tampa as he said. 2 weeks later she was 75 lbs and was dead. Mom basically starved to death. He had to have known that the best advise would have been go use your time left with family and hospice. My MIL could have been told she was terminal. The intake Dr. at Moffitt said they couldn't do anything and wanted to send her home but she was too weak and was admitted. She should have used those 2 weeks being surrounded by loving grand kids.

!!Best Doctor Ever!!
June 2022 I went to ER & Dr Neale & I met briefly before going into surgery. He made sure my family knew what exactly what was going on, as well as me- for as much as I could comprehend at the moment. June 2023 Dr Neale has done a successful reconstruction! He takes his time with you to make sure you understand exactly what he will be doing, he answers all questions, very easy to talk to, awesome bed side manner, & all around a caring, gifted surgeon. Hands down trusted to do any future needed surgery for my family, friends, or self if ever needed! Thank-You, Dr Neale!! Grateful, Cindy

I would not recommend Neale to anyone
From the front office all the way back to the “Medical Assistant” are a joke and rude. I don’t understand how they are in the business of helping others when you can’t even get a call back in a timely fashion. What a joke!!

Uncaring and Dissmissive
Dr. Neale was assigned to my husband in the hospital for his colon cancer. He refused to listen to concerns about the surgery, did a very painful colon exam, then had his P.A. do ANOTHER forcible colon exam that was excruciating and unsuccessful. Ultimately, he did not operate and dismissed my husband from his care. He wanted to send my husband home in extreme pain from the hospital; even against the floor nurse's advice. He actually had me in tears on the phone; he was so rude and uncaring and finally hung up on me.

When first meeting Dr Neale, I was quite pleased. After my surgery I was told I was all done and would heal just fine. He was to do a Sygmoidectomy and fix an umbilical hernia. I still have the hernia and will require being cut open again. Not only that, but I was just contacted about paying MORE to complete my bill. While I did pay this bill, I am curious why they/he didn't do his share of care for me. Paid a lot of money and spent sometime in pain, really bummed I have to deal with this.

Dr Neale has an awesome bedside manner. Very compassionate, detailed on what is going to happen and why. Took plenty of time with me in the exam room, never felt rushed. I would give him a 15 on a scale of 1-10!

I was an emergency patient. Arriving in the ER at midnight with severe lower intestinal pain. By 3:00 am, I was in surgery having my sigmoid colon removed. Dr. NEALE was competent, skilled and so knowledgeable. This was the first time we had met! He showed great empathy to me and my wife. He even spoke to my stepson, who is a gerontologist in CA to assure us of the necessary procedure. Throughout recovery and then 9 months later, reversal he was so supportive and positive. Thank you, DR. NEALE for restoring my health and life!

There is a reason why most of the review sites are largely negative. The office staff is indifferent at best. Most critically, they don't bother to review the computer records and notes of the other staff even when pointed out the information is already in the record. Certainly this is not the way to provide quality treatment let alone best practice.

Dr. Neale is one of only a few surgeons in the Sarasota—Ft. Meyers vicinity who specializes in colon surgeries and accepts TriCare prime health insurance for military personnel. On top of that, he was very professional with me, and more importantly he was very personable (great bedside manner). He answered all my questions before my surgery, explained everything that would be done and explained why, and gave me and my wife a very good post-op summary.
