He was my now deceased mother’s doctor. My Mother had random internal bleeding episodes. It was always thought to be due to her taking eliquis. After exhausting many tests, Mom’s hematologist said to ask her nephrologist(Jeffrey Michael) to ask him to order a sonogram to see where this bleeding could be coming from. Dr Michael bles me off stating “ her creatinine levels are good. Had he had ordered the sonogram, the tumor on my Mother’s kidney would have been found earlier than it was….and possibly been able to be treated. My Mom was diagnosed with stage 4 ‘bladder cancer’. She died 4 months later. He would never be my choice. He was never friendly….very cold.

THIS IS HOW A DOCTOR SHOULD BE! I was surprised to find someone so brilliant, knowledgeable, sensitive to my needs and extremely efficient. I was late to the appointment because of the subways and weather, but he accepted me anyway. Not only that, but he pent a lot of time with me, something other doctors don't do these days. He called me as soon as my test results were in, to ease my worries about my kidneys. I wish he were my PCP as I literally trust him with my life. Thank you Dr. Michael. I

One of the best doctors I have ever met. Very polite and didn't do irrelevant tests to reach his diagnosis. But one funny thing - whenever he called me he would start with' ' hi this is Dr Michael the kidney doctor'. I thought it was funny. I know treating a hyponchondriac like me is not easy.He was very patient with me.
