I have been seeing Dr. Lou for 5 years. He is excellent. He is thorough. He proficient. Up to date. When I have questions, he answers them well. And, he may have saved my life. On one of my visits he recommended I have a cystoscopy, more as a precaution than an initial concern. During the process he said he saw a faint streak in the bladder lining...but thought it was nothing, but still he decided to surgically remove the streak and have it biopsied. And it was precancerous. No problems since, but monitors me every six months.

I now drive 65 miles (one way) to continue seeing Dr. Lou since he no longer has an office in my hometown of Emporia. I have also followed him since he moved to Va. Urology from his previous practice. I like his friendly, easy going bedside manner, his concern for his patients and the fact that he is always willing to answer any and all questions I might have. His nurse Emily is the best, too.

Dr. Lou has been my Urologist since June 2019. He explains everything extremely well regarding my cancer. I praise both him and his wonderful staff for the excellent care they provide for me, not to mention all of the professionals in surgery. Thank you so very much.

So far we have been VERY dissapointed with our experience at Virginia Urology. We waited for an HOUR for a post op /pathology visit and no one came to tell us anything until we complained. As a provider I have more respect for my patients time, I had to reschedule my patients appointments to attend this appt. AT LEAST someone should come to speak to a patient who is waiting, NOT after the patient complains.

I can not speak highly enough of Dr. Lou's explanation and bedside manner. His staff at the surgery center were just as wonderful. I work for a large medical practice and will be suggesting Dr. Lou to anyone who ask for an excellent Urologist.

We came to Dr. Lou after being told within 5 mins. at a different practice that my husband would need a lithotripsy to remove a kidney stone that was never even seen by the previous urologist from records faxed from my husband’s visit to an ER. I called around and was very happy to find Dr. Lou. Dr. Lou was very thorough and took time with my husband. After setting up a diagnostic test within the week, he even personally called my husband to give him the results to ease our stress.

Dr. Lou has been my urologist for 5 or 6 years now. I find him very intelligent and informative. Doctor Lou has a great bedside manner. If I have an emergency he takes me in immediately. His staff are very friendly and efficient and his nurse practitioner Emily is wonderful. Should Dr. Lou change practices I would have to follow him.

Left my dad suffering in the CCI for two hours while he was at his office and told the nurses he would be here. Unbelievable! If he had arrived, he would not have liked the earful he would have received--doesn't care about patients!!!!!
