I would not recommend Dr. Janning as a pediatrician. He administered a COVID-19 swab test to our toddler and was in such a hurry that he hurt our son repeatedly. I had explained to Dr. Janning prior to the swabbing that my son had previously had one traumatic experience with a Covid swab and to please be careful and gentle because he was still very frightened. During the struggle, my son was not only hurt, but terrified; screaming and trying to evade the perceived assault. I have never yelled or screamed at a doctor before in my life but this man terrorized my son. I repeatedly told him “that’s enough” and to “STOP”, eventually screaming in this man’s face. yet he proceeded to jab the swab deep into my son’s nose aggressively. I was in disbelief. When Dr. Janning finally stopped he claimed to not know at whom I was screaming, which is why he hadn’t stopped earlier. In my opinion, if a parent is screaming that loudly at ANYONE in the room, the procedure should be truncated.

Arrogant, paternalistic, talks down to parents. There is no shared decision making as he just dictates what he thinks the care should be. Avoid at all costs.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Janning. He's very competent and thorough while remaining laid back. That's a perfect combination for an easily alarmed mother, such as myself. He validates my concerns (big and small) while continually demonstrating expertise and knowledge that allows me to trust his judgement. It gives me peace knowing we've found an excellent doctor for our children.
