Had a spine fusion done on my L5 to S1 to relieve my excruciating nerve pain in my right leg. The surgery did relieve some pain but now it's painful in both hips and legs. His office told me it was normal for the first six weeks and then when I called to complain they changed that to 6 months. 6 months and I'm still in pain. I was told that I need another surgery to put a nerve stimulator in. Don't expect any help from his office if you have complications after surgery. I should have used a different surgeon.

When I had a concern about a procedure he did for me, he would not take the time to explain the situation. Instead, he said to talk to my secretary. That was the last I heard from him.

I would NEVER recommend Dr Gerdes,,,I had two back surgeries this summer two months apart and he still did not fix it and I had an MRI December 13 th of 19 and it is not the 4 th of January and he has not gotten back to me with the reading so here I am in so much back pain,leg pain and now neck pain and he will not read it and let me know what is what !!!i am not giving up though,, believe me !!!

Recently had cervical fusion. He did a good job of the surgery. Willing to answer questions asked. Easy to understand explanations. Very likable.
