In the Eye of the Beholder
Had surgery a year ago and returned for skin check. Staff at the desk were friendly as were the nurses. Dr. Bakal is very bright, no-nonsense and confident. He is down-to-business as a doctor but certainly enjoys interacting with patients and exhibits a humorous side that is reserved yet genuine. He waits for you to ask questions and replies with informed and thorough information. His informal side is there if you engage him with decent conversation; conversation lightens the impact of being at the office but it is a two-way street.

Terrible Post Surgical Followup Care
Two months ago I had surgery for removal of Squamous Cell Carcinoma which landed me in the ER with a severe Surgical Site Infection. Since my surgery, I have had 2 follow up visits with this provider at my request where I expressed concerns about an infection (neither of which he would officially diagnose), 2 days in ER 1 day after 2nd visit where SSI was officially diagnosed, 7 days off work, 3 follow-up visits with Primary Care Physician and ongoing treatments with a Wound Care Specialist which continue to this date. On a more promising note, the front desk staff, nurses and other providers in practice including Dr. Deb and Leigh who do skin checks are great.

Rude and disrespectful
The doctor showed no empathy for my elderly mother giving her multiple anesthesia shots without saying a word to explain what was being done. Then questioned if he had gotten the right spot based on comparing previous notes on chart. I do not recommend going to this doctor at all.

So much greed.
About 10 years ago I went to see this dermatologist doctor just for a checkup as his name was in the book from my insurance at the time but being there I was told that he doesn't take my insurance, yet he won't let me go and talked to his financial lady who had her office nextdoor to his and she called my insurance to make it possible to have done there everything I need to have done. He saw a mole on my back which he said might be melanoma and after anesthesia he removed it and showed it to me and looked like any normal mole, small, normal color and shape. But before he started everything, he put music on for me and was excessive friendly. I suffered long time with recovery and have a deep long scar on my back by the spine area and left for life with itching around that area. All for the money.

Recently got on blood thinners and the Dr. didnt check the chart to see what meds I was on. He cut into my skin to remove a suspected skin issue, which came back negative, and I bled for 2 days afterwards, finally having to go to emergency room for stitches. Wouldnt trust him anymore.
