I had inguinel hernia surgery on December 20th. I was very impressed with Dr. Edwards bedside manner. He was very kind & explained everything to me & my wife. I was however surprised he said there was no need to come back for a follow up unless I had a problem. On Friday Jan. 10th I called the office because my incision was very red. The nurse told me since I wasn't running a fever to just keep an eye on it & if it's still red on Monday to call back. On Saturday Jan. 11th I went to the ER & was admitted with an infection. I spent 3 days in the hospital at which time they had to reopen the incision & drain the infection. I was sent home with an open wound & told either me or my wife could pack the dressing every 24 hours. I called the office & requested to have home health care nurse come to my home & change the dressing. At my follow up Dr Edwards never checked my open wound & released me back to work. He did not schedule another follow up. Very disappointed!

From the first appointment to explore the symptoms I was experiencing, to my follow up appointment after the removal of my gall bladder, Dr. Edwards was kind, nurturing and very thorough in his communication about my medical condition. The wait time was appropriate for that of a busy office. The staff were friendly and very professional. Dr. Edwards explained the surgery to me and my family, made me feel comfortable and reassured and had the best bedside manners before doing my surgery. Best of all, he spoke with my family after the surgery and both my husband and my oldest son had positive and exciting comments about how kind my doctor was. Oh...and my sutures are slim to none. I would refer anyone to Dr. Edwards!!! Thank you so much, for taking care of me! I feel great!!!

Dr. Edwards was excellent! My wife was hospitalized and received gall bladder surgery under his care. Dr. Edwards was professional, courteous and helpful to us all along the way. He went out of his way to keep us informed and worked with us to get the surgery done while she was in the hospital. Surgery went as planned, without any complications. The follow up in his office was smooth and pleasant. We are so pleased and we appreciate Dr. Edwards so much! Thank you Dr. Edwards!!!

Dr. Edwards and his staff were excellent throughout my surgery experience at Baptist South. His office is very well managed along with the outpatient operation at Baptist South. No stress scheduling surgery, before and after operation. Healing well with small incisions. Dr. Edwards was very supportive to myself and family throughout this period. I would recommend him to anyone needing surgery.

I found Dr. Edwards to be rushed, uncaring & dismissive. I went to him for an inguinal hernia June, 2016; he did a laproscopic mesh repair, but after the initial healing, pain returned a few months later. I returned but he spent LESS than 5-minutes with me saying “The mesh probably shifted”. Nothing else — no follow-up, no advice, NO interest. The hernia repair wasn’t successful & his utter lack of concern is reprehensible; I strongly urge you find a surgeon who cares about more than their fees.

He has performed 2 surgeries on me and I could not be happier with him as a surgeon! He also takes time with his patients. I have recently seen him regarding more stomach issues and he has been thorough to run the necessary tests to determine the source of the pain. I have full confidence in his abilities!
