Dr. Jaya Philipose, MD

Great doctor very thorough ordered X-rays and blood tests for my arthritis issues great following up I have my follow-up appointment today

She was dismissive, rude and makes you feel dumb when asking questions. Even her nurses and staff working there told me she was horrible to work with. I would never recommend her to anyone.

She is extremely rude and misdiagnosed the extent of my osteoarthritis in my hip, claiming there wasn’t a problem. 3 months later, my hip collapsed with a crown fracture. I needed hip replacement surgery. I have tried to see another physician since this group seems to have a monopoly at Mission Heritage/Providence in south county. The last time I saw her, she was slamming doors and said, “You have osteoarthritis. Yes…and? Nothing except dismissing me. When Dr. Shiel retired, I was given Dr. Philipose. I am, once again, trying to get another doctor. I was told that this office has a policy of not allowing you to change doctors. I will be contacting Mission Heritage/Providence Administration to make them aware of this “office practice.”

Oddly condescending demeanor. Lacks the communication skills, empathy, and problem solving mindset required of any doctor when interacting with patients. Seems more focused on how to mask symptoms rather than finding the cause of the problem and stopping it from getting worse

Dr. Philipose is one of the worst physicians I have ever seen. She was cold and dismissive. I have been in pain for months and felt absolutely devastated when she said "you look fine to me. Come back when you have red, angry joints to show me"

Dr. Filipose is so excellent with her information, the time she takes with a new patient and what a difference from my prior rheumatologist. She knows her medicine, very well.

I adore Dr. Philipose. She is a great communicator and explained her reasons for requesting certain tests and asked what was most important to me with RA meds. She is very easy to get a hold of if I have a question and seems to genuinely care about my well-being in all aspects of my life. She is very supportive and understanding; her office is clean and efficient. She's an angel.

I saw Dr. Philipose as I've been suffering with gout for years. My primary care physicican referred me as my current gout treatment wasn't working. Dr. Philipose didn't address my concerns and wrote me off. I reciently saw a new rheumatologist in Fullerton who addressed my concerns and has been very helpful.

She is very knowledgable, extremely thorough and listens carefully. She is a good communicator (listening and explaining). She is also always on time and values your time. I have never had to wait long. I think she's great!!!!
