I was referred to Dr. Lee by my pulmonologist for complex lung surgery because--as my doctor told me--he's the best. For me, he certainly was. I was very impressed during my first office visit with Dr. Lee at UCLA because he knew the details of a my history involving many tests and scans, took the time to explain my options, surgical and non-surgical, and spotted some issues not mentioned by others that warranted further testing before surgery. Subsequent visits were easily made, and very useful to me. Ultimately, his 4-hour surgery in March 2020 went perfectly. Post-surgically, Dr. Lee and his staff have been exceptionally communicative and helpful. Dr. Lee is an excellent surgeon.

Excellent surgeon. One review said terrible bedside manner. Let's face it, his bedside manner means nothing since I am not getting in bed with him so to speak. What counts is his surgical skill and, at that he is tops.

Dr. Lee is a terrible communicator. He is constantly changing his mind and can’t give a definitive answer. He seems unsure of his ability to care for ill patients and vacillates when he is asked questions. He was bold enough to state that an appointment should not be made unless we were sure we wanted to do surgery when he wasn’t sure if he wanted to perform the surgery. Terrible bedside manner. Will have to look for another surgeon who seems more secure in his/her ability.

He saved my life after a surgical accident not caused by him. I was near death when he went to work on me. I think he's brilliant.
