Dr. Jay Kalan, MD

My father has been a patient for several years. Over this time, Dr. Kalan’s office has continually been a disappointment; first not telling my father they moved location, then on several occasions making appointments but failing to keep them or moving them without notice. When voicemail messages are left, they generally do not call back; including Dr. Kalan, even when his nurse says he will. Terrible service compared to other physicians my father and I have interfaced with around HHI. Looking for another option as I write.

Only my 2nd appointment but proved to be a much better experience than my first which was at the height of covid. New office and everything seemed to run smoothly and more productive.

Dr was 45 minutes late. If he was at my office to see me would he wait that long?

I had my first appointment with Dr. Kalan today and now understand why he is so highly rated. He listened patiently and then confidently answered all my questions. I was worried and he was able to reassure me, with facts and statistics, not with empty words. He set a plan in place for my future healthcare. I highly recommend this excellent physician.

Downgraded from 5 stars What is the point of having a physician who cannot be reached because the practice's voicemail box is always full so that you cannot contact him or his nurse or get a call back.

Mailbox full after listening to the recording and trying to set up an appointment. Ok I'll call back. Mailbox full trying to talk to a receptionist. Cool, guess I'll just die without medication refills.

Impossible to get a call back from his office. Leaving a message for his nurse always says "Mailbox is full." Great doctor.... love him, however the office staff and response is fgfar below par.

6 years plus I have been annually seeing Dr Kalan and am very pleased with all aspects of his services. I am happy to say they have only been needed for fine tuning meds, a thorough check up each year and an in depth conversation about my overall health.

I've been seeing Dr. Kalan for seven years. He's done two stents and if I ever need another one I wouldn't want anyone except him to do it. Dr. Kalan is thorough, knowledgeable and has a easy going demeanor with patients. He communicates well and gives patients the information that they need. Dr. Kalan also makes sure that his support staff gives patients the assistance that they need in this stressful healthcare environment. I recommend Dr. Kalan as highly as possible.

Somewhat of a long wait time, but that seems to be the norm these days. Dr Kalan had the test results and they were shared along with instructions on how to get results on an upcoming test.

My visit with Dr Kalan and his staff was great. They are all so nice and helpful. They make you feel comfortable and safe if you are having a procedure or even if its just a follow up visit, they are great to work with. I feel I can trust Dr Kalan to do whatever he can to make me and my condition better.

Dr. Kalan and his staff do a phenomenal job with my health. Everyone is exceptionally courteous and helpful way beyond anything you would expect. They have scheduled appointments for me based on my travel times and even went out of their way with appointments to allow me to attend a family reunion. I have been a patient sine 2013 and have traveled as much as 12 hours to my appointments. I live in another state. They are my cardiology medical team and will continue to be. They have helped me to have a very rewarding life after a 5 valve bypass that saved my life. Dr. Kalan takes as much time as he needs to keep me informed and to answer any questions that I may come up with.
