Dr. Jay Dewell, MD

Dr. Dewell performed the wrong hernia surgery on me and after 3 years - I'm still in pain from him cutting me open in the wrong spot. When I went to see him we discussed the huge lump next to my belly button and I was told I needed an Umbilical Hernia Surgery - at that meeting Dr. Dewell said he had done thousands of those surgeries. I set up a date for my surgery. When I woke up from my surgery - I was cut down by my groin. I thought it weird but wasn't sure if that's where he went in to perform my surgery. A few weeks later I had my follow up appt and the lump by my belly button was still there. I questioned the NP and was told no - you had the Inguinal hernia repair. I said - why - I came to see Dr. Dewell for a Umbilical Hernia Surgery - please check my records. I said please check my records. She didn't admit that he had performed the wrong surgery, but set me up for another follow up surgery. As you can imagine - I certainly was not going to go back to him to do the cor

Nearly no waiting. Extremely helpful with my spouse. Nurse immediately recognized an immediate need, called the dr and my husband was promptly cared for. This was our second time with this Dr and we are very happy with him and his staff.

Bedside manner was exemplary. The time he took with myself as the patient was very impressive, his explanations of procedures and process to the patient was impressive and made me feel at ease
