This doctor is great! I am very comfortable going to him ..he is caring, takes time to talk and explain my condition as well as answers my questions and listens to me. I would recommend (and have 11 times) him to anyone needing diabetic care!

I want to thank the people here who did the reviews for this doctor. I used these EXACT reviews to decide on whether to go to him. I had to go without care for 2 years because the endocrinogists available at the time, were poorly trained in regards to the eating disorder/type 1 diabetes problems I was having. But when I saw these reviews for this doctor, I decided to try him. And to date, I have been very happy with him.

Dr. Schafer is by far the best doctor I have seen. He thoroughly explains and listens and possesses excellent people and diagnostic skills. Dr. just informed me he is leaving HAN Endocrinology and wherever he goes is getting an amazing doctor. You'll be sadly missed doctor J!

Dr. Schafer is an amazing doctor. He is very thorough, truly listens and really works with you to get the problem figured out. He really took the time to help me figure out why I was having episodes of hypoglycemia. After struggling with low blood sugar problems and side effects for 15 years, it was definitely life changing. My health has improved significantly with the help of Dr. Schafer!

My first appointment with Dr. Schafer was wonderful. His staff is very friendly, and Dr. Schafer himself has a very professional, attentive bed side manner. I didn't feel rushed or dismissed, and I felt like all of my issues and concerns, were thoroughly handled. I would highly recommend Dr. Schafer to anyone in need of an Endocrinologist.
