Dr. Jason Rizzo, MD

I cannot recommend Dr Rizzo enough. From our first meeting he explained everything he was going to do. Took his time and answered every question I had. His patient manner was refreshing to see. He guided me through the 4 months of post op.

Dr Rizzo performed a Mohs procedure on me and recommended the site heal without sutures because it was so small and there was potential for a scar, but he would follow up with laser treatments if the presentation needed more intervention. I’m familiar with facial scars post Mohs and appreciated his professional opinion and concern. My site healed perfectly with the 6 week open wound healing and 2 laser treatments. I feel very fortunate to have Dr Rizzo on my Derm care team as I’ve been under treatment for over 20 years for skin cancers. Dr. Rizzo is an attentive and thorough professional. My scheduled appointment was timely, office staff friendly, location is excellent and office very inviting and clean. I’ve taken my mom to a total of 4 doctors in two different states over the last 3 years. Mom’s case is complicated as she has two independent recurring conditions. from the time I made the appt to the time I had stitches removed all the staff were extremely friendly caring and reassuring. I was diagnosed with basil cell carcinoma on bridge of nose. Had 2 basal cell carcinomas removed from my facial area by Dr Rizzo, using Mohs surgery. Extremely pleased and excellent followup treatment. Would highly recommend!

Dr. Rizzo did a very careful and expert Mohs excision of a basal skin cancer area near my nose. I was concerned that it would leave a distorted scar but by following his instructions, it healed beautifully and didn’t even require laser treatment. I am very impressed with his expertise, his concern for his patients and his personable and caring approach.

For the past 33 years I have had cronic skin condition on my back. I have been seen by numerous dermatologists in SW Florida and Rhode Island and no one could cure my condition This past Month I made an appointment with the Woodruff institute and saw Dr. Jason Rizzo. A biopsy was taken and follow up was scheduled. Dr Rizzo ordered medications and a follow up was scheduled to review my condition. There was a great improvement in my condition and Dr Rizzo did a followup with the biopsy group to do further testing on my biopsy to check for underlining conditions. Additional medication was added and a followup was scheduled. My back, according to Dr Rizzo, was 80 % betterYesterdayfrom my first visit. This is the first time in 33 years that I have seen promising results. Dr Rizzo is without a doubt a compassionate, caring physician who listens to his patients to achieve the best results. Dr. Rizzo treated me for three individual sites for skin cancer. A forearm nodule required an incision, electronic cauterizing and several stitches. The two other leg lesions were excised via a scraping tool. I felt no pain as he checked the effectiveness of the local Anesthesia . Throughout the entire process, Dr. Rizzo, explained the current process and next steps. I found his demeanor calming and informative. He listened to many questions and explained everything in an easily understood fashion. There are many options for dermatology in Southwest FLorida, but I assured you that you will be in excellent care with Dr. Rizzo…. Calm, informative, highly intelligent, skilled listener. Recommending Dr. Rizzo with the upmost confidence.

I was very apprehensive about having any cutting done on my face to remove basal cell spot. Dr. Rizzo calmed down my fears & was very meticulous in removing it and making extremely tiny stitches. Everyone said it looked great and can hardly tell after only 1 month of healing. In the future, I wouldn’t trust anyone but him.

Dr. Rizzo is a compassionate and skilled dermatologist who showed great care in examining my questionable moles and doing biopsies of them. The office is clean and his staff are friendly and helpful also. I highly recommend him and hope he continues to be able to see patients without too long a wait.

I was fortunate to have had Dr. Rizzo perform my Mohs surgery. He explained the procedure and what to expect during the healing process, which helped put my mind at ease. The entire staff was professional and friendly, Dr. Rizzo is a very skilled, kind and genuinely caring doctor.

I went into have a total body assessment. Which I would recommend for everyone especially people getting older to have done. I had a couple of areas which concerned me, a couple of skin tags that I wanted to have removed. They did biopsy on two areas. One was a tiny little black heart on the inside of my leg that I didn't have concern about. Well the biopsy came back positive for skin cancer. Not only that It came back. positive as melanoma the worst skin cancer you can have.It was only a few days before Dr. Rizzo himself called me and told gave me the bad news. That impressed me right away. The next week I had surgery on that cancer. The entire team was polite and kind . It was the best choice I could have made. I am an RN and I missed that tiny heart, it is easy to do, I pray we caught it early on. As a health care provider I can recommend him Dr. Rizzo and his staff without out a second thought.
