Dr. Neilsen is one of the best surgeons I have been associated with. He was to the point, professional, objective and most of all caring. My surgery was anything but routine. He understood that going in and went above and beyond. After surgery, he was constantly checking on me, once I left the hospital, he called numerous times to check on me. These calls were after hours and over the weekend. He is exceptional.

This review is being written to replace my last review which was written from a place of anger and fear. Dr.Nielsen performed emergency abdominal surgery on 8/19/21 after reviewing a CTScan done in NW ER on 8/18. He explained to me an area of small intestine was telescoping into itself and there was a mass showing. The only things that upset me about Dr.Nielsen and this emergency surgery was that I feel like a CT Scan could have been done prior to surgery just to double check that nothing changed before cutting all the way into my abdomen. The other item was that it was never told to me that a sarcoma could possibly form under the staples. This happened and scared me to death. It ended up being nothing and was fixed in the office. Dr.Nielsen has a great bedside manner. He checks in with you everyday. He speaks TO you, no air of arrogance like most medical professionals. He is a good doctor, good surgeon, good human.
