Dr. Jason Holgers, DO

I’ve been seeing Dr. Holgers for a while now and I couldn’t be more pleased. He is an incredibly thorough, thoughtful, patient, super nice and obviously very intelligent and capable doctor. I’ve worked with many doctors at jobs where I worked in front and back office health information/medical record/administrative positions. Dr. Holgers is honestly at the top of my list of doctors of whom I have 100% confidence in. He’s never rushed an appointment, he actually addresses all my issues, completes physical exams (as opposed to just saying he did in his appointment notes), performs manipulations (think chiropractic, but seemingly much gentler and more effective), gives awesome advice, and at the end of his appointment he’s actually asked ME if I had anything else that I wanted to talk about! (Almost unheard of in my experience.) Lastly, I’d add that he’s referred me to a phenomenal PT, neurosurgeon and physiatrist as well. I really can’t say enough good things about Dr. Holgers!

While transferring care to Mayo for surgery consult, I actually read Dr Holgers notes from multiple visits, which were completely opposite of what I thought happened during visits, and rather disturbing. The worst was a mention that I was under the care of my mother who attends my visits with me, so recommends mental health therapy. Um, my mother has dementia so, while funny in a sad way, I found it disturbing to say the least, to recommend mental health care based on having my mother attending with me. I hadn't felt the need to tell him I was taking care of her. He assumed otherwise, apparently. He's very nice to your face though. Mayo didn't even seem to look or care what a DO had to say. Very good experience at Mayo compared to Spine Clinic. Consider looking elsewhere if you're not getting better. Dr Holger's pleasant nods and repeated check-up visits just didn't do it for me. After reading his notes, he seems really odd.
