Abrupt and insufficient information
I did not know what I did not know to ask a lot of questions and the doctor was not divulging much information. He was very quick to assess and make his cataract surgery recommendations. When asked if the eyes would have the same prescriptions (for lack of better term) after surgery, he said yes. After surgeries, discovered the eyes were completely different - one for close up and one for distance. Found out a month later that there was an eye disease that should have been discussed and handled special that I was not told about prior to surgery. He is polite and dresses nice but have many examples of him not providing sufficient information and rushing you through his exam.

Rude, non-listening, concerning.
As a critical care RN, I found the visit to be so substandard compared to professional standards that I walked out. I have zero tolerance for abusive behavior in the professional setting. I went there about a serious post op complication after suregery by his partner. I ended up being diagnosed and treated with the needed surgical repair by another doctor at a different practice for this post-op and avoidable complication. A patient needs a professional that cares more about the patient than the provider's ego. You won't find that level of care at this practice.

Terrible experience. Treated my stepmother horribly. Refused to see her after we got there and let her sit in waiting room for hours. She was starting dementia and he was afraid she'd "sue him" after she complained about the very expensive special glasses he made her pay for that she didn't need. (Called prism glasses). Another ophthalmologist confirmed they were not needed. She was crying when she was picked up. He told my husband that he was going to call the police on me for "abandoning" her. She had an appointment for Chrissakes...how is that abandoning her ? I.had made arrangements for her to be picked up immediately after her appointment.

I have been to no less than four eye doctors in the area trying to find the best one. Two of them either overcharged me or charged me unnecessarily for things that were not needed. Such as glasses for my daughter when she did not need glasses for 4 years! Dr. Friedrich & his staff have always been kind and accommodating with me & my family. He is hands down the best eye doctor in town. I would never think of going anywhere else. Very professional and fair pricing. Highly recommend.
