Too busy and disheveled, not experienced enough
Dr. Fishel can only handle non-complex, healthy patients. He doesn't have the capacity, knowledge, or experience to treat anything beyond that. Too busy to get an appointment for acute treatment of disorders and his responses in the portal usually take 3+ days (again.... too long for patients who have significant health issues and need care from their doctor). His office would rather send someone to the ED for something nonlife-threatening, but time-sensitive, than squeeze them in for an appointment. Doctors like this are a huge part of the reason why EDs are so overwhelmed! Your primary care should be available to see & treat you in the office for acute, non-life-threatening health matters- that is what they are for! Atrium needs to change its policies- it's impossible to treat patients in 15 minutes or less and any doctor who willingly abides by this is not following their Hippocratic oath. I cannot recommend this doctor to anyone but healthy people.

I'm new to Charlotte and was apprehensive about finding a new doctor after almost a lifetime with my previous NP. I feel so lucky to have found Dr. Fishel right off the bat. He is thorough, attentive, responsive and a really nice guy. He makes recommendations and also takes my past experiences into consideration. I feel very heard and very much recommend him if you're looking for a new GP.

I have lived in Charlotte for around 5 years and I did some research and asked around for a good PCP as Charlotte is becoming home. I am going, so I’m looking for a primary care physician and to build a long term relationship. Dr. Fishel and his staff went above and beyond! Upon entry the staff was efficient, friendly, and with sensitive times during Covid-19 they have their system streamlined where all CDC guild lines are held to the highest standards. Everyone is on the same page and you will feel safe and well taken care of. Upon scheduling my appointment, they were also timely, and the wait was not too long. Dr. Fishel himself was very knowledgeable, you can tell he carefully listens and thorough! He is very personable and you get a sense of ease with him. I am confident he will deliver services to you at the highest level, and I am comforted to trust in him and his staff as my PCP!
