Dr. Jared Harrison, DO

My heart was broken when I found out he had left VA. I hope PA realizes what a great doctor they have gained. I have also considered the commute to PA to see him. His colleagues at his previous practice have done nothing but jerk me around. I’m currently looking for another PCP but I know I won’t find anyone quite like him.

Wow, I just found out today that Dr. H was in Reading. My heart has been broken since he left Williamsburg. I am very funny about who I choose as a Doctor, but when I brought my grandchildren to him, I knew he was that one special Doc and I had really lucked out. He has been my entire families doctor for over 6 years. He was there when I was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer and he told me that he would be there every step of the way. Then he was no longer here and my heart shattered. Citizens of Reading, you have no idea what a gem you have at your finger tips. He is amazing, he listens, he is good to his patients. The Hamilton, Stewart and Lucca families miss you and Terri terribly. I wish I could come there and tell you what I have been put through since you have left. Everything with my treatment is so messed up. Dr. H, you are the best!!!

Since Dr. Harrison left VA I have yet to find a dr that can help with my chronic pain issues. He was my first introduction to Osteopathic Manual Therapy and his gentle and kind method did wonders for my everyday life. I am seriously considering the drive to PA to continue therapy with him. The practitioners that I have seen since Dr Harrison left have very likely done more harm than good for my situation. Thank you Dr. Harrison for being the dr that you are.

My family and I were very blessed to have Dr. Harrison for our doctor in Williamsburg, and now we are certainly searching for someone that adds up to his standards. PA, you are so blessed to have this wonderful man to look after you. His is very caring, thinks out of the box, works through long complex issues and you always feel you are not alone. I am the one that has the chronic issues and I have always left his office feeling lifted up with a sense that things would resolve and get better! He also does something that others rarely do, he lets you consider and research the drugs that he is considering prescribing for you. He is not one is these that just take this or that's it. Dr. Jared Harrison is attentive, calm, a great listener, he takes time for his patients, answers any sort of question, and comes up with possible solutions for problems. With him you don't get the feeling like you're a "burden" to him or if the doctor doesn't believe you. Besides being the best doctor we've ever had, he is a very nice person too. He was our PCP/GP in Virginia and we sure do miss him. If we could make the drive to PA, we would. I can so understand why some patients from his old practice here will do exactly that. After he left here earlier this year we have a VERY hard time finding a doctor who can even hold a candle to dr. Harrison! For example, dr. Harrison started to try and figure out for me why I'm losing so much weight. The answer of the doctor in his old practice that we have now: "Just eat more" (but I eat all day long as it is). The ones like dr. Harrison are few and far between and anyone who is his patient can call themselves blessed.

Dr Harrison is the best doctor on the East coast. He looks at the body as a whole and isn't afraid of holistic medicine or other medication if they deem necessary. My father (86) and myself found him a couple years ago after going without health care for 3 years. I am definitely going to take the 4+ hour commute to go see him in Pennsylvania vs. trying to find another doctor. I highly recommend Dr Harrison as a medical provider for you and your entire family. Dr. Harrison is by far the best Doctor I have ever had through my years of chronic illness. He is not only extremely knowledgeable, professional, and and always timely in his responses, but his level of compassion is something rare these days in the medical field. I would highly recommend him for anyone looking for a good Primary Care Doctor.

Dr Harrison is wonderful, from what I can tell from my first visit. He cares about you as an entire person, doesn't just ask about what's wrong. It's nice to have a doctor who cares that you are not only healthy, but also happy and living a balanced life. How refreshing!
