If it were possible, I would give her 0 stars. She was absolutely awful! I’m very sick and she was very rude. I can barely talk and she kept cutting me off making me feel like I didn’t know my own body. I left no better off than I came. I don’t think she heard anything I was saying and I felt like this appointment was a waste of time and money. I have no answers. For someone as overtly sick as I am you would think she would have compassion but nope. I felt like an inconvenience to her. She kept telling me my allergies and meds weren’t in the system but her nurse had just reviewed them with me and I had confirmed them during check in. She later found them in her system and rattled them off like she hadn’t just told me they weren’t there. No apology whatsoever. I felt gas lighted. I am not a person to leave reviews but was compelled after such an awful experience.

No bedside manners
She has absolutely no bedside manners and seems very cold and rushes through the appointment. My interaction with her was very odd and it seems like she doesn't even enjoy her job or dealing with patients at all. My insurance company requested that she submit a letter to get my prescription filled and she never submitted the letter. I have reached out to her office numerous times and I get the run around and no responses through the portal.

Both my wife and I have selected Dr. Dumlao-Umayam as our Primary Care Physician approximately eight years ago and have not regretted our decision! Dr. Dumlao-Umayam HAS ALWAYS displayed the utmost professional demeanor towards us, attentively listened to our needs, ensured the utmost of our privacy concerns, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, taken the appropriate time to fulfill our medical needs. We have and will continue to recommend this truly professional physician to others!!!

I felt rushed, stupid and a liar in her eyes. I came in for nerve/shingles type pain and was barely examined and dismissed immediately. I was told to take copious amounts of ibuprofen (even after telling her that Advil did not work for the pain) and was told if I do develop a rash to "just come back." I did not need pain medication, I was asking for an answer to why I was having such an odd pain with no visible inflammation or injury. Also said "I only have 15 min" but it had been 2-3 min.

If I could give a zero, I would. I went to this Doctor after several days of chest pain. She acted as if I was wasting her time. She did no testing and only a cursory exam. She is not only a poor doctor, she is not a nice person. I would not recommend this doctor.

Dr Umayam always takes the time to talk through my concerns with me. She does not rush to order tests or procedures, which I respect. She follows up after appointments and checks in after I've seen other specialists in the Inova system.

I will not ever go back to this doctor. I've been shopping around for a halfway decent doctor. I saw Dr. January's video and read some reviews and opted to give her a try. Unfortunately, the negative comments about this physician's patient care style were correct. I felt rushed and she cut off my words. She was cold and just not at all like her video portrayed. I asked about getting a mammogram and she was extremely rude to me. I know doctor's time is money, but but so is mine.
