Dr. Rafferty explained thoroughly options for treatment including non surgical (OR) interventions. She was kind and patient, I was nervous regarding potential treatment.

She also was very "all business". She whirled in the room, fired questions at me one after another. It wasn't until the actual exam that she her demeanor changed slightly as she explained what she was going to do during the exam as she was examining me. The discussion after the exam was inclusive and collaborative. I know my issue is minor compared to her expertise (colorectal cancer) but it is still my issue, one that I have been dealing with for some time. It is personal and not easy for me to discuss. While I left with answers and a plan, I left feeling overwhelmed, anxious and wanted to cry all the way home in the car.

Rude and Pompous
It felt like Dr. Rafferty had no care or concern for me. Would not let me ask any questions, and was very rude. Do not recommend this pompous and uncaring doctor.

Outstanding Physician
There is a reason Dr Rafferty is the Chief of Colorectal Surgery at The Christ Hospital; she is simply the best. Six months after my emergency colon surgery with colostomy (in Texas), Dr Rafferty performed colostomy reversal surgery. Her knowledge, professionalism, bedside manner, and concern for my care was simply the absolute best. My system started functioning the next day and the pain was minimal. With pre-surgery medications and a nerve block during surgery kept pain to an absolute minimum. The Best!!!

hemorrhoid/constipation
I was diagnosed with a thrombosed hemorrhoid which was very painful. When I called her office they wanted to schedule me in July until I told the nurse my symptoms. She was able to get me in on Friday morning at 7am. Everyone was extremely professional. Dr. Rafferty and her staff get 5 stars plus from me. She gave me a couple options, I chose to have it removed. Dr. Rafferty removed it in the office during my visit. Life is good. I cannot be happier with the results and how smooth my appointment went.

I made an appointment with Dr. Janice Rafferty for a removal of a bleeding and inflamed hemorrhoid. By the time I got in for my appointment I had already doctored my hemorrhoid and had the bleeding and inflammation down. I told her that I wanted the hemorrhoid removed. She looked at it and said it didn't need to be removed, and also told me that she Didn't Know If It Was A Hemorrhoid Or What It Was! She didn't know what it was and didn't care enough to take a biopsy to find out what it was, or refer me to another doctor. I would think that a Colon And RECTAL Doctor Should Know What A Hemorrhoid Looks Like! I DO NOT RECOMMEND HER, ALL SHE DID FOR ME IS GIVE ME A SAMPLE SIZE CREAM! She Didn't Have Any Problem Sending My Insurance Her Bill, While I Still Have My Hemorrhoid Problem! And I Would NOT GIVE HER ANY STARS AT ALL! Thank You, and I hope nobody else has this medical problem with her!

From the time I entered the office I felt they cared. They treated me with respect, answered all my questions and the Dr. even held my hand as they put me out for surgery. She made me fill I was being taken care of by a friend. On a scale of 1 to 10, I’d give her and her staff a 13

Dr. Rafferty saved my life. I was diagnosed with colon cancer after a colonoscopy at 45 in NKY. I was referred to a general surgeon to remove the tumor. The CT scan seemed to show that the tumor was contained. It was strongly recommended that I go to Dr Rafferty. MRI showed the tumor had escaped the colon wall and had spread to lymph nodes. My course of care changed to chemo/radiation, colon resection, and chemo follow up. I'm a little over 2 years post surgery and still clear!

Can't say enough good things about this surgeon, her office, and her staff. Not only is she highly skilled as a surgeon, she has incredible communication skills: very accessible to patients and so easy to talk to. Knowledgable, efficient, organized and compassionate. When one has cancer and is facing surgery, you want the most competent surgeon available which is Dr. Rafferty . Hue vervet the fact that she looks you in the eye and treats you like a person not just acase is even better.

Dr. Rafferty saved my life. I thought I had hemorrhoids only to discover it was Stage IIIa cancer. I called to make an initial appointment & whoever I spoke with took the time to question me about my symptoms...3 days later I was in her office. She & her office staff made every arrangement for every test, etc. & then put me in touch with 2 amazing oncologists who brought me through chemoradiation therapy. The treatment was hell but the result - remission, life, & time w/my 8 yo granddaughter!

I believe Doctor Rafferty is a excellent Doctor and I would and have recommended her to some people I know needing surgery. She was very easy to talk to and I felt so comfortable with her, because I knew she had my best interest at heart. She and her whole staff have just been great. Thanks to them I just walked my youngest daughter down the wedding aisle.I can't say enough or praise them enough..
