Dr. Wildman made a point to shame my mother for my weight, insinuating that she was over feeding me and was the cause for the fact that at 15, I hadn’t yet had a period. Mind you, the only reason we were seeing her was because I had fallen at school, my tailbone was broken, and my regular pediatrician was unavailable at the time. Instead she decided to play savior with an overweight kid in pain and both myself and my mother left the office upset and in worse shape.
