Love Dr McGill!
I’ve been seeing her for many years. She always takes the time to thoroughly evaluate my medical condition. After my thyroid surgery, I wasn’t able to find a doctor that could balance my medication and dosages so that I’d feel better. I feel lucky that I found her!

Pros: I eventually got the scripts I needed, thanks to a helpful diabetes educator and Dr. McGill’s kind and competent fellow. Cons: My new patient appointment started 50 minutes late. I got to spend about 10 minutes with Dr. McGill. McGill came in with the diabetes educator & CLEARLY wanted to leave as quickly as possible. At one point she said “So… do you need any doctor stuff, or?” and gestured like she was going to leave, before speaking to me about any of my problems. When I brought up my chronic pain that i was in tears about—which could be small fiber neuropathy, a diabetes complication that is within her speciality—she looked visibly uncomfortable and simply ignored it. She gave me factually incorrect information about levothyroxine. She refused an antibody test to confirm a diagnosis, but put the diagnosis on my chart. If you need any care, go somewhere else.

I have been seeing Dr. McGill since I got kicked out of St. Louis Children's endocrinology/Dr. Neil White, in 1989. You will be hard pressed to find another physician who is willing to spend the amount of time needed with a patient, and you don't mind if you have to wait because you know you'll get the time you need also. Shoe goes above and beyond what she needs to for you patients.

Dr. McGill was awful! I usually see another provider in the same practice but couldn't due to scheduling. Dr. McGill refused to listen to me, criticized me, asked off the wall questions that had nothing to do with health and increased my daily insulin dose while decreasing the amount prescribed. I will not be seeing her again and would not recommend her. Save the time and find a real doctor.
